Terri Shields (NBC)
Terri Shields (NBC Hotties), Rachel (Universal Television) (NBC-TV) (Channel 4)
Network Season Rankings 1. ICE - 16 wins (83 points) 2. ROD - 6 wins (52 points) 3. NBC - 8 wins (45 points)
THE SHIELDS SISTERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LAST THREE VICTORIES
We're seeing some amazing history happen right now in NITRO as this is unbelievable and fun to see the Shields sisters pumping the ratings like they're doing as NBC just completed their most successful ratings day in network history dating back to 2009. NBC for the first time in history won both the daytime and primetime ratings war on the same day on a weekday and weeknight. This was a massive day for NBC just like it was for ICE yesterday.
This is in thanks to the Shields sisters and their star power which has gone to another level this season as there was some question as to whether Allison Shields and some of her sisters were going to fall off after the family split up last season to different studios. One thing that has been put to rest as a result of what we've seen the last couple of weeks that the ICE machine did not dictate the ratings strength of the non-ICE Shields sisters.
Barbara Shields got a chance to prove herself when she got the struggling morning soap The House That Love Built to an all-time series-high and making it the highest rated non-ICE soap in all of NITRO Television right now after it grabbed 35 million viewers earlier today.
TERRI SHIELDS = RATINGS!
We are already familiar with Terri Shields taking Rachel to a whole other level after she just completed her fourth episode live tonight where she got Rachel to its fourth consecutive series-high now going up to 177.71 million viewers which was around 6+ million viewers more than Tuesday's episode so Rachel continues to grow each episode. Terri is just so popular on the show right now that she has become the exact definition of the NBC Thursday night comedy block lineup name Must See TV. Fans just love to watch Terri and her talent match the legendary cast of Friends with the exception of Matt LeBlanc who played Joey Tribbiani on the show. We saw Matt LeBlanc last night make an appearance on his new comedy hit DJ Becky with Terri's little sisters Strawberry and Kay Shields and her older sister Gillian Shields as well.
DJ Becky was around under 8 million viewers short of beating Rachel last night for its series premiere but DJ Becky was still high enough to achieve the 2nd highest rating in NITRO history for a scripted program but DJ Becky did nail the highest rating in NITRO history for a series premiere for both scripted and unscripted. It shows how much of a reach the Shields sisters have in NITRO right now.
Highest Rated Scripted Performances on Each Network
1. Rachel (NBC) - 177.71 million (THU 10/4/18)
2. DJ Becky (ICE) - 163.78 million (WED 10/3/18)
3. Dallas Cowgirls Undercover (ROD) - 157.41 million (MON 10/1/18)
Terri Shields plays a friend of Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) daughter Emma who is a lot like Rachel was when she was younger looking to get her foot into the fashion industry. Terri has become known for the classy dresses she wears to work in real-life and wears on the show since the show tapes live like most of the other NITRO comedies do right now so Terri doesn't even have to take it off for any costume wardrobe change. Joey Aniston who produces and writes for the show says that they typically keep the episode format in the same day so that nobody has to change wardrobe in between takes but some episodes take place on different days. We typically see soap operas use this format over a period of days where the actors are in the same outfits for multiple days and the NITRO comedies have really adopted this format going back a couple of seasons ago with the ICE comedies.
We saw Michelle Keegan from LA Passions sport her dress today that almost helped her win the NITRO Fashion competition back on Monday. Michelle wore it live on LA Passions back on Monday, Tuesday, and earlier today on Thursday. She will wear a different outfit for tomorrow's episode as they head into a different day. Michelle got plenty of publicity for that outfit and we see fashion making a huge statement in NITRO shows this year like never before.
Terri Shields wore a white dress short-sleeved dress white strapped heels to work today and on the episode of Rachel as today was another dress code day for the NBC actors to wear formal business attire outfits. This has worked great for promotion for fashion brands mainly Jordache Jeans for ICE, Gucci Jeans for NBC, and Express Jeans for ROD. The dresses that Terri has wore on every episode so far have gone up in sales immediately after the show by fans who purchase the dresses from online retailers so it's definitely working all-around.
Terri says that the dresses she typically wears are comfortable and not complicated she says it's great to wear it to work all day and all night and for the show. Terri says the other actresses in the studio have to come to her since last week telling her that they love wearing skirts and dresses now and now that there is a season long fashion competition in NITRO now the girls have an incentive to look their best. Girls are really competitive because of the fashion competition this season so girls are trying to one up each other and they're choosing dresses and skirts over pants or shorts because it's helping them standout more. Terri says she wears dresses because it's comfortable for her it just so happens a competition is going on and she's generating money from the sales she's making off of wearing the dresses on Rachel.
Terri says there's some dresses that girls such as her sisters who wore them the other night on Tuesday who have been wearing dresses that can be worn as nightgowns, sleepshirts, or nightshirts for sleeping and wearing all day at home to lounge around in on their off days. They've been known as nap dresses as she says the one that she wore today is comfortable enough to be worn like that but she joked after the show when talking to media saying that she rarely has any off days and she certainly won't be off tomorrow to take advantage of it but on her next off day she will do just that for sure. A number of girls will wear these dresses on their off days.
Terri was asked about some of the girls wearing revealing outfits as Victoria Justice was called out the other night by Jake T. Austin and many other people on social media about her looking like an ICE whore wearing a see-through shirt that revealed her bra underneath. Then Audrina Patridge who wore a dress where you could see her panties right through her dress because it was see-through and Kya Summers had on one that was too short. Terri talked about staying classy and that she won't call their girls out of their name because she respects them but she says girls have to know that people are watching and wearing outfits can damage their reputation as being called an ICE whore or ICE slut right now is one of the worst things that you can be called in NITRO right now outside of the 'T' word thug especially when you don't even work at anymore like Victoria Justice. Terri says her dresses are typically long enough or not see-through to see her panties underneath or her bra but Terri says she usually doesn't a bra under certain dresses as she says she didn't wear one tonight because her dress was a like nightgown so she was able to be comfortable. She says the thing is nobody would've known if I wore a bra or not unless I told them so that's how non-slutty all my dresses are.
Terri says the funny thing is that her and Jake T. Austin talked about his comments towards Victoria Justice yesterday and they joked about the whole thing but Terri says at the end of the day that she respects her. She feels like Victoria is still having a hard time shaking the ICE Starlets reputation she used to have more than most actresses have had coming over to NBC.
Terri Shields says that she went to wearing dresses and skirts once she moved to Paris after coming over from Toronto. She says she still loves wearing pants or shorts as she says she wore some Gucci Jeans the day before to work but she says for the most part if she has a chance to throw on a dress or skirt she's gonna do it. That's an option she really didn't have when she used to work for ICE as she says that's what makes NBC fun. She was also asked about Audrina Patridge's Fall Dresses show on ICE tonight and she says she'll watch it later to see what's on there but she knows Audrina knows fashion as Audrina was in Paris on Tuesday. She also says that Paris is a very fashion forward city so the culture here is different than Toronto so we're different here we're going to take some risks and not just too boring or predictable and that's why when I first came to Paris I changed up my wardrobe right away.
Terri says this year will be fun and it's great to see people in our industry diversifying their wardrobe.
For the rest of NBC's ratings we've noticed another problem with the flow in the comedy block as comedies behind Rachel are dropping really hard and it's starting to become a concern because the block is not as success as the Comedy Night Done Right block on Tuesdays and once the pageant's competitions heat up on ROD and ICE starts programming the night more aggressively this can become a problem.
My Gay Neighbors dropped to 136 million viewers with a 76.8% retention rate which is not bad at all so My Gay Neighbors is not doing too badly behind Rachel. Miami's Friends is doing okay behind My Gay Neighbors but you'd like to see it do way better. If you look at the NBC block in comparisons the drops weren't as severe.
The worst performance of the night belonged Sam & Brian: Friends which did worse than Teen Athlete which is moving to Punky soon. Sam & Brian: Friends only had 41 million viewers and dropped behind My Gay Neighbors by 70 million viewers and fell at least almost 140 million viewers behind Rachel that is probably the worst ratings performance of the season that we've seen for a show with a huge lead-in to start the night. Sam & Brian: Friends is pretty much a dead show walking and according to NBC sources the comedy is supposed to move to AJC. The show is doing better with streaming audiences but is a big huge loser on live NITRO Television. The crazy thing about Sam & Brian: Friends is that the show was a huge hit last season for NBC when it averaging between 50-60 million viewers. Ratings in that area these days are not good as anything below 60 million viewers is considered horrible these days so to be below that mark is just plain pathetic. Sam & Brian: Friends also got beat badly by Audrina Patridge's new shopping show on ICE which had a lower lead-in and still beat it by 25 million viewers.
Sam & Brian: Friends is killing Seattle Mysteries which continues to grow out of it but because of the bad lead-in it's rating below the Mendoza Line.
Audrina Patridge (ICE)
Audrina Patridge (Jordache Jeans Enterprises), Fall Dresses with Audrina Patridge (Warner Bros. Television) (ICE-TV) (Channel 7)
For ROD they were down just a little bit but still solid enough to hang in there for a clean 2nd place victory over ICE. Their pageants outlasted the rest of NBC so there's nothing to worry about on this night for ROD as their draft competition Junior Beauty Pageant and Miss Roderick Pageant will get stronger as the season goes along. The Junior Beauty Pageant will get a huge lift next week when their auditions hit the San Francisco Bay Area as they will get Suri Cruise big first audition. Suri Cruise is the love child of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise and she will get her run on the Juniors before moving up to the New Girls in Town Pageant next season before finally being drafted in NITRO in 2020 so we'll see if that has an impact on Rachel's ratings next week although Suri's audition won't be until the end of the 9pm hour.
ICE took the night off again as Teen Athlete which is the newest draft competition of the season continues to drop but it will move over to Punky. Teen Athlete will likely pickup steam later in the season as it is a draft competition. ICE isn't worried about its ratings right now.
ICE made another change as they're retooling Self-Defense to be redone for a daytime reboot later this season so Paige Van Buren pulled the show off the schedule this week and made an emergency move to add one of their newest Jordache Jeans Shopping Network shows to the lineup. We just got through talking about Terri Shields' dresses impact on the ratings so ICE put in the first live shopping show to be aired in primetime on one of the big 3 networks. Audrina Patridge who is one of the Co-Owners of the Jordache Jeans Ownership Group and the main host on the new Jordache Jeans Shopping Network (JJSN) that just launched yesterday hosted her new Fall Dresses shopping show on ICE to some surprisingly decent numbers. The show that showcases fall dresses got 66 million viewers to beat Sam & Brian: Friends as we highlighted earlier with 66 million viewers being ICE's highest rated show of the night and the highest rated show on a Thursday night for ICE in two weeks. This is a very encouraging sign as ICE says they'll keep the shopping shows going on Thursday nights if they do well until they retool their Thursday nights in January.
A repeat of The Irish Punk did very well and similar numbers to Secret Auntie in that slot last week so ICE got a solid performance out of their 2014 hit box office comedy.
Tomorrow night is another Kelly Green Friday for ICE and we saw record ratings form last Friday's wild night. We don't expect it to be quite as crazy but we will see how things progress as DJ Becky has its second episode after the regular lineup. Carmela Rose makes her debut on Molly in South Philly tomorrow night and Madison Beer will be the special guest on the show making her official ICE onscreen debut. The New Girls in Town Pageant is live from Australia and we'll see if the hit late night soap Who Wanted Nichole Dead? gets a higher rating. We will get some changes from NBC as they have inserted a new retooled edition of Anna Kendrick's variety show from the old TEN network in 2013 and Liam Spencer takes on Steffy Forrester for the first time so that matchup should be great. It should be another eventful night and will be fun to see this 3-way on Fridays.

Terri Shields is a beast bro and Rachel is a monster
the rest of NBC was pretty sorry though as they could use some changes as this lineup is not clicking as well as their Tuesday one is
i think ROD could be a problem for this lineup once their pageant shows get deeper into their seasons like Proxio was saying
i'm interested to see how Suri Cruise does next week she could have an impact like Blueberry Shields did last week, i don't expect more than 200 million viewers though i'd say she gets it to 120-130 million viewers in that area somewhere for her audition
Audrina Patridge did pretty well but ICE doesn't seem to care about this night
i just noticed something in the points standings that NBC actually needs ICE to do better on Thursdays so that ROD gets no points for coming in 2nd place

Rachel continues to deliver but now NBC has a new problem with those comedies behind it. I still think My Gay Neighbors has potential but Miami's Friends is probably dead and I think this was the comedy that Tonya Krosney was leading so if it is this is not good for Tonya Krosney at all. Marie Avgeropoulos should have her people fix that comedy's cast because I remember it not hitting on ROD before it was sold to NBC.
Sam & Brian: Friends had no business airing again as it really pulled Seattle Mysteries down pretty good again and led to Seattle Mysteries losing against a repeat of The Irish Punk.
Audrina Patridge's shopping show did better than I expected so shopping shows can work on the main networks as I'm sure ICE will stick with it and they should have Fall Dresses air again but have it lead off. Speaking of dresses I do think they are driving the ratings up for Rachel but I also believe it's because Terri Shields' star power is on another level right now and the show itself was already successful before she got on there.
Teen Athlete shouldn't be airing on ICE again either but I think ICE already said it's moving to Punky next week.
ROD is going to do bigger numbers next week with Suri Cruise auditioning.

Fall Dresses with Audrina Patridge did pretty well for us surprisingly and it will definitely move up to 8pm as I'll likely double it up and keep the movies going through the Christmas season as we're going to retool Thursdays starting in January.
Teen Athlete moves to Punky next week and it will start airing on Mondays at 8pm as I needed to get it away from Junior Beauty Pageant which I believe is killing it and Suri Cruise's audition is on there next week so this is a great time to move it.

Marie Avgeropoulos (Chairman): Colton Haynes I respect your decision and thank you for making it as we are going to retool My Gay Neighbors and fix this cast.
Marie Avgeropoulos (Chairman): The problem is the show isn't cast right so we're going to put Vika Bronova in the lead cast role with either Allison Shields or Yulia Osmond coming over to help. We just gotta figure out a stronger male lead.
Alexandra Krosney (Security Guard): AH HA Tonya your show fucking failed you're a fraud and a failure!

Since Marie seems to be fixing My Gay Neighbors that show might be ok going forward but I'm surprised Tonya Krosney is not drawing people over to Miami's Friends. Unlike Tuesdays, I think this Thursday block can be beat and ROD will be pretty strong on this night going forward. ICE had another bad Thursday but the shopping show and the movie actually did ok.

I always felt like My Gay Neighbors had potential I just think they were missing direction with the writing and stars leading the show so I'm glad Marie Avgeropoulos stepped in and fixed her show because the way it was trending it might've been cancelled. It's time to start worrying about Tonya Krosney that was a bad performance from Miami's Friends and if NBC ever pulls it from the schedule that's a bad look for her.
Wasn't Daniela Orosio leading ROD's version of My Gay Neighbors? I know she's locked up right now this season but I think she was leading that one. The show definitely needs a superstar or two leading the show like we saw with Terri Shields on Rachel. She changed the entire landscape of that show once she got on there.

Thursdays are a lot weaker for NBC than Tuesdays are and I feel like these two pageants will get stronger as the season carries along and next week we got Suri Cruise on so I think we'll beat everything except Rachel.
My Gay Neighbors is starting to scare me a little bit because they're making dramatic improvements that could make them harder to compete against like Rachel.
