PUNKY WINS THE FIRST EVER LIVE STREAMING NETWORK BATTLE
Wednesday was the biggest date in ICE history to-date and that continued with the launch of their newest secondary broadcast channel Punky named after Soleil Moon Frye's famous child character Punky Brewster. Punky was able to easily handle Alex Juarez's new network AJC named after it's owner which also launched on Wednesday as well. Punky had an advantage though of having more original programming and stronger repeats.
Neither network has extra competition coming from ROD's new secondary broadcast network which is going to be called the Lucy Hale Network (LHN) after the studio's current and maybe most popular CEO ever. This is the time for both networks to build up their viewing bases before LHN launches which we don't know when that will happen since ROD is still working on everything with their own streaming app.
One of the unique programming options on these networks are extra feeds of their shopping channel programs like Jordache Jeans Shopping Network and Shopping with Suki Waterhouse which did 22 million viewers for its premiere in primetime on Punky. Suki Waterhouse who works as a backstage producer and manager on The New Girls in Town Pageant with Jessica Clements, Devon Windsor, and pretty soon ROD's ex-Knockouts Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Kara Del Toro has become a really successful rookie for ICE although she's not one of their younger rookies. Suki Waterhouse came from the Miss Roderick Pageant last season. Suki Waterhouse has turned into one of their better picks from that pageant last season and one of the top picks period in any NITRO studio from the Miss ROD Pageant.
We also saw an instant repeat of DJ Becky after the simulcast of the premiere reaching a high of 24 million viewers on either network throughout the entire day.

Paige Searcy (ICE Starlets), Secret Auntie (Paramount Pictures) (PUNKY-TV) (Channel 3)
One of the most remarkable repeaters of this new season has been the TV Movie "Secret Auntie" from Paramount Pictures as this movie has been out for 10 days and no matter where ICE schedules the film it has done extremely well for them as its aired a total of 4 times including its premiere back on Sunday September 23rd, 2018 on the ICE Television Network in primetime. It's the only other TV Movie that has premiered this season on NITRO Television with the other being ICE's remake of the 1984 TV Movie Something About Amelia. NBC and ROD have yet to premiere a TV Movie this season yet and they might want to get into that game seeing how well Secret Auntie has done in second runs.
Now Secret Auntie aired at 4pm as a network premiere for Punky and did about 15 million viewers absolutely killing AJC's repeat of Lost in Space and it beat NBC's network premiere of the 1996 feature film From Dusk till Dawn and came real close to beating ROD's vulnerable dance competition Super Crews.
What's going to be amazing from here on out is to see how either Punky or AJC come close or defeats any of the Big 3 Networks programming options.
ICE said that Secret Auntie would be apart of their package of shows and movies that they will sell to the other networks in the future. The sequel to Secret Auntie will premiere this spring on ICE and a third movie has already been ordered to close out the trilogy then the series might be turned into a television series down the road. Secret Auntie airs again on Friday morning so we'll see how it does there.
For AJC, it was not a good day for them but there was no real expectations since this was the first day and Alex Juarez already said himself that shows that are airing this week aren't necessarily airing next week. They are doing a test run so failure is okay this week.
Punky finished with a healthy 11 million viewers to AJC's 4.30 million viewers which is underneath the 7 million viewers where they need to be averaging so they gotta get this average up before November Sweeps.
To start out Disney Playhouse might already be done as none of those shows had quite any viewers. They might want to figure out their own original programs for children if that's their target audience for those hours. The Gucci Jeans Shopping Show was the only program that did well for them in daytime. In primetime things were better too as the new shopping shows were in healthy territory. CSI: LA did a little bit better on AJC than it did on NBC but the expectations aren't nearly as high but in order for CSI: LA to survive it must keep up with CSI: Norwood which is premiering on ICE probably around next month. A repeat of Aria did pretty well to lead-off late night as well.
AJC has a lot of work to do to keep up with Punky as Alex Juarez has a lot of pressure on him before LHN comes in.
The Shopping channel numbers are next and the next secondary broadcast ratings will include double days (Thursday & Friday) as they will be out after Friday's primetime ratings. Jill Nicolini will analyze those numbers for you guys from her show on Saturday. Also, be on the lookout for ICE's streaming numbers from Punky Power as well.

SECONDARY NETWORK RATINGS
Jill Nicolini starts explaining how the new streaming networks are expected to rate out of the gate and progress over the rest of the season.
On Wednesday, we've had the new Punky Television Network (Punky) and Alex Juarez Channel Television Network (AJC) launch along with the new 24/7 shopping channels Jordache Jeans Shopping Network (JJSN) and Gucci Jeans Shopping Channel (GJSC) all launch.
It's expected that the reach for viewers will be nowhere near as huge as the Big 3 Channels usually are on a daily basis.
Jill made sure to point out that ICE has made ICE, Punky, and JJSN all available for live stream viewing on their new streaming app Punky Power which launched a 4-month preview window for customers to use the platform before the official launch in February. NITRO and ICE's personal measuring agency will include the streaming numbers to the live NITRO Ratings as of Wednesday. Jill said 95% of the viewers will watch traditionally through NITRO Television while 5% will watch live through Punky Power so there won't be a huge difference but there will be an extra set of viewers included at any given time and we don't know what the numbers are just yet.
Ratings are going to be smaller but they are divided amongst all three ratings windows daytime, primetime, and late night.
Jill broke down the levels for each window and then the standards under that so networks know what's acceptable or not.
Weekday Daytime Hours: 100 thousand viewers through 25 million viewers
Primetime Hours: 10 million viewers through 30 million viewers
Weekday Late Night Hours: 100 thousand viewers through 20 million viewers
Ratings will progress beyond 30 million viewers probably through 50 million viewers in primetime. Weekend is not known just yet where those standards will be but just like on the original networks they will be close to these numbers.
These are the expectations of what it takes to survive on the secondary networks these days on any day of the week.
Most programs range in between 100k to 30 million viewers on average on any day of the week at the moment.
Secondary Broadcast Automatic Cancellation: Below 3 million viewers
Secondary Broadcast Danger Territory: 3-7 million viewers
Secondary Broadcast Mendoza Line: 7 million viewers
Secondary Broadcast Bubble Spot: 7-10 million viewers
Secondary Broadcast Safe Sweet Spot: 10-20 million viewers
Secondary Broadcast Blockbuster Hits: 20-30 million viewers
Secondary Broadcast Record Setting Hits: 30+ million viewers
Secondary Broadcast All-Time High Rating: TBA
Note: Right now the standards will change within two weeks and there's a lot of repeat programming on these networks so it's tough to judge at the moment right now.

I'm not too surprised that Punky won the first day after I saw the schedules it looked like Punky had a more aggressive schedule compared to AJC.
Punky was not messing around on day one with their schedule.
I don't think the lack of original programming hurt AJC it was just the type of repeats they were running because Punky was running a lot of repeats and still killing it. That's really what it came down to in my opinion but the children's block should be original programming because those types of programs don't repeat too well as NITRO has never really had a successful children's block scene ever. The closest would be the teen stuff but that's the closest it gets.

that was pretty much easy domination by Punky but the good news for AJC is that the Gucci shopping shows actually did pretty well for them and so did a repeat of Aria it's going to be tough expect more out of classic TV shows though so i guess you have to give them a pass at times

I think AJC is just testing some stuff out but these networks are used mainly to placehold for repeat programming and promote the streaming platforms so it's not a huge concern as ROD's network hasn't launched just yet. I am impressed with Punky on day one they are doing very well out of the gate.

I am very happy that Punky came out swinging on day 1 as we did have a strong lineup but I was shocked some shows scored higher than I thought they would as I'm very impressed with the primetime shopping shows as I think Suki Waterhouse is going to turn out to be one of our top 20 rookies this season as this airing told me a lot about her star power. The repeats did really well in late night as well.
Secret Auntie has been a wonder this movie just keeps repeating so well. I'm going to extend more airings for the rest of this month as it goes great with the Scary ICE Halloween window coming up.
AJC did okay with the shopping shows but they're probably testing things out. I just want to make sure Punky is as strong as possible before the Lucy Hale Network launches because that network will create more competition for us.
I can't wait to see how the shopping networks do as well.

Punky did very well on day 1 the numbers that Punky got would beat some programming on ROD and NBC in daytime from the way it's looking.
Secret Auntie is a beast, it should be repeated to death as much as possible.
It's very important for Punky and AJC to get their networks established before the extra competition comes in from LHN. I do think ROD is smart though for playing the patience game and waiting to launch that network because ROD has some things to take care of in daytime and primetime before they're ready to launch LHN.
