BIG NAMES BOOST NBC DAYTIME TUESDAY BUT STILL FALLS SHORT OF 2ND PLACE
It was a quiet Tuesday for ICE but they still led all networks in the daytime ratings race despite their ratings being down from the last couple of weekdays on Friday and Monday. Inside of the Teen ICE block the ICE Afterschool Special led on top with 39 million viewers and The Swimming Diaries has done a very nice job all season so far for them at 6pm.
ROD came out on top of NBC thanks to the start of their day and some pretty good repeat performances led by Dallas Cowgirls Undercover to start the day at 6am as the new hit blockbuster drama has not only been wowing in primetime but in repeat performances as well as it's already been one of the top repeat performers of the new season. Caitlin Stasey's Bullshit Mornings is holding up really well in comparison with the recently cancelled talk show hit Hunter & Kacey. ROD's soaps were up a little bit today to some of their highest performances of the season. ROD has gotten pretty average to solid numbers out of their soaps all year although NBC has now really caught up to them in that genre and things might get a little bit more difficult once The Music Box Killer premieres in a few weeks as that soap has Another World's departing star Vika Bronova in it. ROD may want to invest in a new soap that's capable of getting ICE type ratings as that's something that Daytime President Jacqueline MacInnes Wood needs to do before she goes into ownership.
Drama's Place has continued to perk up quite a bit for NBC carrying the soap block on its back lately. Barbara Shields will do a guest storyline arc on The House That Love Built starting this Thursday morning so we'll see how that does against ROD's Guiding Light.
Tuesday is a really busy day for NBC as they have a pretty huge night for the Comedy Night Done Right tapings live in Paris with a shitload of media expected to be on hand. It's also a huge day in terms of the new formal business attire dress code that NBC started trotting out back on Thursday. This dress code is in effect mainly because of the studio's newest General Manager Tempestt Bledsoe who put the dress code in place to give their new core of rookies some structure in their behavior and adaption to being full-time professionals.
Speaking of Tempestt Bledsoe she was introduced for the first time officially since being promoted publicly to the media and her press conference was televised live on NBC and it got almost 30 million viewers. Tempestt has been in the news a lot this season so her star power is high right now.
THE AFTERNOON TALKERS HAVE REAL HEATED BATTLE
That helped The Anna Kendrick Show which has struggled to beat Tracy Kimmell Live since that show started back in mid-September to come real close to beating Tracy Kimmell on Tuesday as Anna Kendrick got 32 million viewers to Tracy Kimmell's 33 million viewers as both shows had some really huge names as guests with Tracy Kimmell having Kya Summers, Juliane Landers, and Xenia Deli as the music guest while Anna Kendrick had NBC's top new rookie Tonya Krosney, Brandon Lewis, and Sterling Knight. All six of these names are household names in NITRO right now so it's no surprise the ratings were high against Another World which was able to hold onto its 40 million viewers and this was impressive for Another World since it was down yesterday against slimmer competition. This was the most 2pm hour of the season on weekday in daytime this season so far so there was a lot of viewers watching across all three networks.
Kya Summers has moved onto ICE as their new CEO but she still promised Tracy Kimmell that she would do this cross-network via satellite interview live from Paris.
Katy Perry's live music performance nabbed 36 million viewers but the highest ratings between NBC and ROD came thanks to Allison Shields who hosted the Comedy Night Done Right preview show again. It's possible that Allison Shields may have permanently nagged this gig for the rest of the fall or season.
Tonight is all about NBC as everybody is waiting to see if Rachel can improve on Thursday's record setting ratings for a comedy and beat Dallas Cowgirls Undercover and Who Wanted Nichole Dead's ratings. With all of the media attention that NBC is getting we'll see if the whole block will see a life as Full House leads it off. ICE will battle with ROD again for 2nd place thanks to their Janit O'Day franchise lineup and ROD's struggling country lineup.

ROD most definitely needs to develop a really strong soap they got no soap matching Drama's Place right now in the ratings
their talk shows are really strong right now though ever since they made those changes to only having Tracy Kimmell Live and Caitlin Stasey's Bullshit Mornings
i still think Guiding Light can edge The House That Love Built but if Barbara Shields beats Guiding Light it really shows how good her star power is right now in NITRO
NBC needs to fix that 6pm hour and i wonder where they will put The Music Box Killer, i would consider putting it on against Another World to have Vika Bronova go against her own show and to have Anna Kendrick avoid Tracy Kimmell Live

I have heard rumors about ICE developing a couple of new soaps and now that they have that Punky streaming network they might shift a soap or two over to that network to have some more original programming. We know for sure it will most definitely not be Staying Alive and Youthful Daydreamers that move over to Punky. I think Star 80 will be the one that's out. I think ICE originally developed that soap for Victoria Justice and now that she's gone they probably are gonna move on from it.
ROD also needs a new soap like Proxio and Beermoney were both saying as they have no soaps getting more than 30 million viewers on a daily basis.
NBC is not far behind they have to fix some of their timeslots. One thing about ROD right now they don't get below 10 million viewers for any program. NBC needs to get programs that get more than 10 million in all timeslots. I really believe too that now that they have the AJC streaming network now they can put a lot of their lower-rated programs over there so they can be more competitive with ROD.
We know Jessica Lowndes is going to put pressure on Nick Robinson to program those hours more competitive in daytime.
I do believe Barbara Shields can beat Guiding Light I don't see that as an incredibly difficult task for her to complete to be honest with you guys although Guiding Light ranges in between 15-20 million a day.

NBC is gaining on us mainly because their soaps have gotten stronger thanks to those Drama's Place boosts behind Sunday Night Football the last couple of weeks.
I agree with you guys as well that we gotta find a stronger soap but it's tough though to develop the right one but we'll work on it.
I think Barbara Shields has a chance to beat Guiding Light on Thursday as War Update is stronger right now so that's a pretty good lead-in and we no longer have a powerful 8a hour anymore to hold As the World Turns and Guiding Light up anymore.
