COMEDY NIGHT WAS DEFINITELY DONE RIGHT AS NBC HOLDS OFF ICE & ROD FOR THE 2ND TIME IN THE LAST THREE NIGHTS
If there's one area where NBC isn't struggling at it's definitely not with their comedy roster which has most of their top 10 shows placed inside of the comedy genre. NBC has struggled more with their dramas and other non-scripted programs to start the new season.
Selena Gomez officially tookover NBC back in November 2013 but she was one of the main people along with Head Programmer Nick Robinson who vouched for turning around their comedy genre by rebooting Full House and Step By Step and ever since they made that decision it's really helped the network get to a new level they never reached in their first three seasons on NITRO Television. They programmed both comedies around some other promising comedies as well such as Topanga but unfortunately for them ICE took ownership of the series since Danielle Fishel signed over ICE during the offseason so the network lost Topanga which was their third highest-rated comedy last season.
NBC took things to another level when they rebooted Queens of Motown and Friends by giving the popular series a spin-off featuring Jennifer Aniston as her character Rachel Green who also owns the studio and network. It's helping too that NBC is using a few of their new rookies in these comedies as that's helping boost up the numbers.
Rachel has come in as NBC's top-rated scripted series of all-time starting off its first 5 episodes on the high-end of ratings. Rachel has really helped the network really fill out their comedy blocks right now. It seems like the Tuesday block is way more seasoned than the Thursday block because of how strong Full House is leading off as the absence of Team ICE for the first time this season really helped their whole block as Full House garnered over 90 million viewers which is already a season-high for them so those viewers not interested in serious crime dramas like Fugitive at 17 watched Full House. Step By Step was not far behind it at 90 million viewers.
The very last episode until Terri Shields joins the cast of Rachel reached 119 million viewers and the question on Thursday is will Terri get Rachel over 130 million viewers?
Queens of Motown did very well behind Rachel keeping the network over 100 million viewers going into Gimme a Break!
With the way things are looking NBC might very well lead Tuesdays the rest of the fall unless ICE or ROD has a week or two in there where they program some specials to boost up their numbers.

THE JANIT O'DAY FRANCHISE DOES ENOUGH TO HOLD OFF ROD FOR 2ND PLACE
A pretty good decision was made this past week to move Janit O'Day and one its latest spin-off Fugitive at 17 away from the very weak Thursday lineup and over to Tuesdays to be reunited with Kelly's Thugs and Chicago's Most Dangerous Bitch to replace Team ICE which has now been delayed to February due to the impact of the WFL season this fall keeping the girls from getting tired and beaten up and able to practice with their WFL teams a little more or have the day off.
Fugitive at 17 started the night for ICE at 70 million viewers which placed it in third place in the slot behind The Stella Sisters and ROD's new comedy hit Baby Don't Rush. It would be the only slot that ROD defeat ICE the rest of the evening as Janit O'Day took control of the night and setup Kelly's Thugs and Chicago's Most Dangerous Bitch to win the rest of the slots.
Chicago's Most Dangerous Bitch scored 93.39 million viewers at 11pm and the show has done a nice job transitioning from the first season star Jessica Lowndes over to ICE's new boss Paige Van Buren this season. This lineup as a whole has potential and for ICE they're not looking to win the night but hold things up and sneak another 2 points in.
ROD's country lineup is not doing bad but it's in third place so Lucy Hale will have to make modifications to it as the season progresses and we'll get more in-depth about in later weeks. The problem is that NBC's comedy lineup is overpowering so it's hard for ROD to compete.
Tomorrow night ICE looks to get back on top as they have gotten fast starts out of their two dramas Teen Angels and one of the higher-rated scripted programs of the season in The Wrong Students starring Dasha Dereviankina who has gotten into it lately with her studiomates Bridget Satterlee and Nancy Nery after defending Vika Bronova. Bastard Kids, The Adult Years, and Angry Landlords have done well in their adult comedy block. DJ Becky starring Strawberry Shields debuts next Wednesday for ICE. ROD has The Nanny Diaries, Koy Jung, and The L.A. tomorrow night while NBC will run Lucy Hale's big horror hit Aria, The Pretty Little Bitch with bubble shows The Waves and Killer Love as Aria is waiting for Heather to premiere.
