STRAWBERRY SHIELDS STAYS RED HOT & TWO ICE STARLETS NEW BEEF LIFTS TAHJ & ARIELLE AM PAST 50 MILLION VIEWERS
When the first set of Top NITRO Actors list comes out after November Sweeps this December expect Strawberry Shields to be one of the favorites to knock Allison Shields out of her first place spot that Allison has held down for 9 years now since December 2009. Allison's little sister might dethrone her but it won't be easy for Strawberry as we've already got some new stars on the horizon making a huge name for themselves in NITRO to start this new season and one of those names in the hunt for the top 5 of NITRO Actors is the young 16-year old rookie Bridget Satterlee.
As you guys have read in the previous post her and Vika Bronova got into a rare in-studio beef between each other which started last night after the dramatic WFL showdown between the Quebec Nordiques and Milwaukee Millers. The game got huge numbers yesterday afternoon for NBC and had Bridget and the whole Nordiques trending in the top 10 on Sunday. That beef heated up even more this morning as these two star rookies showed up on Tahj Mowry and Arielle Kebbel's new hit morning radio show to air each other live on the airwaves. That bit of drama spiked Tahj & Arielle AM to one of their highest rated performances of all-time as they were able to attract 52 million viewers this morning. It was a bit of rare drama to show up live like that on the airwaves but NITRO fans are used to wars between their actors ever since the first one between Allison Shields and Alyson Stoner back in the summer of 2009 it has continued ever since but it's very rare when beefs take place between actors working in the same studio. We have seen some stuff go down internally already this season at NBC as Sterling Knight has shook shit up against several NBC actors including Allison Shields herself. We don't know how this beef will shakeout but for now it's red hot and gave Tahj & Arielle huge numbers.
STRAWBERRY SHIELDS = RATINGS!
ICE Daytime continues to dominate as their soaps are on fire right now and a lot of it has to do with Staying Alive starring Strawberry Shields herself has ignited this lineup as Staying Alive achieved a new series-high topping their premiere from last Monday. The soap still hasn't hit over 60 million viewers yet but they're very close. Youthful Daydreamers continues to do very well out of it and Vika Bronova's Another World ended up with 42 million viewers at 2pm.
ROD had a super quiet day but they did enough to hold off NBC for 2nd place as the lineup didn't have Tracy Kimmell Live on Monday but Hunter & Kacey continues to do enough in the morning along with Sunset Beach late in the afternoon to keep ROD upright as it was the only soap on the network to cross 20 million viewers. Star Girl finished its run on Monday to a quite turnout while Pill Popper Jane in its new timeslot at 5pm grabbed 18.68 million viewers in front of Sunset Beach. Lucy Hale quietly cancelled The Midday Show last week as the former hit daytime talk show ended on Friday due to lowered ratings to start this season and Tracy Kimmell putting it out of business.
Lucy Hale says one of her goals this season is to find a daytime soap that can get close to 30 million viewers on a daily basis as they are gonna start looking at soaps to air at some point this season. Lucy Hale says Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, and LA Passions are all not in danger of being cancelled but that if they need space on the schedule one of them might go. New ROD Daytime President Jacqueline MacInnes Wood says one of the biggest challenges is finding a timeslot to get a soap to get huge numbers since ICE takes up the best slots with their soaps from 11am-5pm. She says ROD might need to challenge them directly with a reconstructed schedule later in the fall. They are looking to take a page out of ICE's book at use one of their new star rookies to star in a daytime soap like ICE has done with Strawberry Shields in Staying Alive.
NBC is having a hard time like ROD trying to counter ICE on the weekdays in daytime but their brightest spot remains to star this season Drama's Place and Fashion House. As you guys may have remembered Drama's Place got a huge boost behind Sunday Night Football last night in primetime and was able to pickup a season-high this morning in viewers getting over 22 million that helped Fashion House reach a series-high as well. With Hunter & Kacey the only program on ICE or ROD providing original content in those first two hours it helps NBC stay solid there.
NBC has started to dig into their library for classic programming to help celebrate their shift from SBC to NBC in the past week. This week they will start airing reruns of classics as they repeated 80s legendary dramas Miami Vice and Knight Rider on Monday afternoon and the two actually didn't do too bad considering how badly NBC has done in those slots to start the season. They were both not that far behind ROD's reruns of current dramas Quinn Fuller and Sheila Carter. Although this is no permanent solution it's something NBC can program to give them time to find the right original programming to program against ICE and ROD in the future. Starting on Wednesday they'll air Dragnet at 11am to go against All My Children.
Later in the day Victoria Justice continues to do pretty well as the host of the network's Afterschool Specials as they grabbed 16 million viewers against ICE's Afterschool Special. ROD will star their new season of Afterschool Specials starting next week according to Jacqui Mac. Terri Shields also did well at 7pm as she's been trending all week.
Tonight is a very busy night and ROD is expected to win as Dallas Cowgirls Undercover premiered with over 127 million viewers last Monday and this week the Dallas Cowgirls football team will actually be playing on Monday Night Football against Sarah Simmons and the Arizona Desert. Truck Ladies has done very well at 8pm before The Carpenters Hour this season we'll see if the extra Dallas viewers watching DCU will effect it a little tonight from getting over 90 million viewers again or not. Overnight Nurses will cap off ICE's lineup as the primetime soap has been a stable option for ICE for a long-time. NBC's troubled Monday lineup simply can't compete and shows like CSI: LA and Jaws are both on life support at this point possibly airing their last episode or episodes. If CSI: LA fails tonight that's likely it's final new episode in its run which started back in the early days of NITRO. Jaws has been doing very badly and Mackenzie Rosman is gone from the cast so the show is pretty much dead at this point. Some analysts think this might be one of the lowest ratings nights of the season for any network for NBC tonight but it may not happen since Seattle Mysteries is one of their better performing dramas but the lead-in will be very low for Seattle Mysteries.
