STRAWBERRY SHIELDS IN PRIMETIME LIFTS NBC TO A 1ST PLACE VICTORY OVER ICE & ROD
NBC had a huge day thanks to the WFL boosting them up quite a bit as they had 150 million viewers laying eyes on their network so the network is hoping those WFL viewers will tune into the commercials they were watching all day and night and checkout some of their programming this week. We know for sure with Strawberry Shields being a huge draw in NITRO right now they're hoping this is the start to a good week for them when it comes to the aspect of the Shields sisters drawing in huge numbers this week. Later this week Strawberry's two older sisters Allison and Terri Shields are supposed to be factors to the ratings of their comedy block as it was tweeted out by Allison tonight that she was going to host their Comedy Night Done Right block this Tuesday to help promote Terri's huge debut on the cast of their new blockbuster hit sitcom Rachel this Thursday. Ally herself will do a run this November during sweeps.
For now though back to Strawberry she gave NBC a lift and if you watched Sunday Night Football on Sunday night there were many promos about Allison Shields hosting Comedy Night Done Right and Terri Shields big debut on Rachel this Thursday hoping that the Shields family fans will tune in later this week.
The game itself scored 153.09 million viewers topping the afternoon showdown between the Quebec Nordiques and Milwaukee Millers which scored 138 million viewers earlier today. It's no surprise that this game got over 150 million viewers considering Strawberry Shields and her little sister Kay were involved in this game going against the ROD Knockouts on the Los Angeles Stars so there was a lot of star appeal on both sides. The game itself was great too but it didn't start out that way because Los Angeles leaped out to a 28-3 lead going into halftime as they jumped all over Seattle. Los Angeles QB Gigi Hadid was hot hitting 14/15 of her passes to start the game and the LA defense was looking strong led by Kya Summers and Juliane Landers. Strawberry Shields started out slow and sluggish as she looked really tired to start the game. Strawberry has had a busy week as she had to promote her new daytime soap Staying Alive all week and starring in it all 5 days this past week as well along with playing for Team ICE this past Tuesday and trying to practice with her team whenever she found the time. That's the major reason why ICE made the decision to delay the Team ICE season because girls were doing double duty with the WFL and Team ICE so now their Tuesdays are free to either rest or practice with their WFL teams. Strawberry admitted after the game that she was pretty tired coming into this game but felt like this week would be better with Team ICE being taken away as she has to work a daytime soap 4-5 days a week now so she needs the time to be able to practice.
Luckily Strawberry is such a great quarterback maybe the best in the league right now she was able to will her team all the way back to comeback and win behind her passing game as she gained energy after halftime and figured out that LA defense. Strawberry and Kay abused that Los Angeles secondary as Strawberry threw all four of her touchdown passes to Kay as Strawberry scored 366 yards as well. Seattle gave Los Angeles a huge surprise winning the game 31-28 as Seattle got the game winning touchdown with 47 seconds left to go. Jewel rookie Zelda Stojanović picked off Gigi Hadid to seal the game for her team. It was a dramatic comeback victory for Seattle and huge loss for Los Angeles and their fans at the Memorial Coliseum as the fans were shocked at Seattle's comeback. Not a good way for LA to start their new season especially seeing their crosstown rivals down in Orange County in the Anaheim Oranges win big against Houston earlier today.
In the late night WFL game we had Natasha Herbst and Her Bay Area Quakes visiting the Australia Kangaroos who have a stacked team of talent so expect them to be a playoff contender this season in the NFC also known as the Nancy Football Conference. Kangaroos QB Vikky Lee had a huge day for her team grabbing 413 yards and 5 touchdowns in this game. Natasha Herbst needs more talent around her as the rest of her defense got burnt in this game. It was definitely a party for the folks down under in Sydney on a Monday afternoon for their home opener as their Kangaroos would go on to win this game handily 45-21 as this game aired on ROD and had 94.63 million viewers.
Now for the rest of Sunday's ratings starting with NBC they had a huge turnout for Sunday Night Football and their hit daytime soap Drama's Place was able to take advantage as the John Stamos and Lori Loughlin soap posted 107 million viewers behind the game getting plenty of extra exposure. This was a special primetime edition as we'll see if this smart move helps the soap grab some extra new viewers this week. Drama's Place did pretty well out of the game keeping NBC over 100 million viewers this was the key to their victory over ICE and ROD because Drama's Place did way better than The Waves last week which had just 95 million viewers behind SNF. Had Drama's Place scored similar numbers or lower then NBC would've lost to ICE and NBC needed this victory because Lucy Hale's network ROD has been doing very well to start this new season. NBC is still in the ballgame for 2nd place as they're only 7 points behind ROD and only one win away.
ICE remains way out in front as they did have the Game of the Week like ROD had but because they had such a strong lineup they was able to hold ROD off as this was a rare day when all three of the networks were hanging around 100 million viewers each.
The New Girls in Town Pageant held their annual auditions in New York City in Midtown Manhattan at Madison Square Garden as they were finding all kinds of talent from the East Coast and the New York/New Jersey Tri-State area itself. The two big standouts amongst the rest of the contestants was Julia Mellor from Washington, D.C. who competed in the Junior Beauty Pageant the season before and is expected to be the next draft's version of Chase Carter. The other standout was from right there in New York City in Madison Leigh or Maddie as she is expected to be the last Miss New York contestant in the competition. Later in the competition look for the big auditions from Kaia Gerber on October 14th in Los Angeles and Thylane Blondeau in Paris on a special Saturday matinee edition of NGIT Pageant on October 27th. These two Kaia and Thylane were huge rivals at the Junior Beauty Pageant the season before with Kaia winning that first competition. Both of them will be drafted this summer. The Pageant drew 147 million viewers up against stiff competition on both NBC and ROD and that gave ICE's new TV movie Secret Auntie a huge lift.

ALL THREE PROGRAMS AT 10PM SCORE OVER 100 MILLION VIEWERS
On a rare occasion we had all three networks at 10pm garner over 100 million viewers as NBC led the gang with Sunday Night Football getting 153.09 million viewers, ICE got 109.08 million viewers for ICE Special Treat premiere of Secret Auntie, and ROD got 100.24 million viewers for Pretty Thieves. It shows that if you program the right program the viewers in NITRO will come regardless of competition.
ICE's showing of their newest TV movie Secret Auntie from Paramount Pictures did pretty well behind the pageant as ICE did a great job of finding something that could counter-program the football audience inside of both of the 10pm and 11pm hours. Secret Auntie had to face a boosted Pretty Thieves and Drama's Place and those two programs fit more with their target audience for Secret Auntie. ICE knows their audience very well and one of the secret formulas that always works for them is psycho bitch type of thrillers and Secret Auntie was no different as Ashlynn Yennie played the crazed auntie character and veteran young actress Paige Searcy played her victimized niece. ICE scored nice ratings for both of their TV movie premieres with Secret Auntie and Something About Amelia a few days ago in daytime starring Melissa Alonso in her acting debut. No word yet on when the next TV movie premiere will be in primetime for ICE just yet but they were able to air this because there was no late night WFL game for them to air this week but they will have one next week.
ROD came in last place but it was one of the most impressive last place performances you'll ever see. The ratings they got on some nights would get them in 1st place if not at least 2nd place but Sunday was so overly competitive in NITRO on Sunday night.
The night got off to a fast start thanks to ROD having the Game of the Week overrun this week with Malena Morgan's dramatic win in the Battle of Florida over Jacksonville getting them 138 million viewers. From there all three of their Sunday dramas Eight Is Enough, Baywatch, and Pretty Thieves reached series highs. They have a very good performing trio of dramas but the most impressive drama is obviously the Janit O'Day spin-off Pretty Thieves which was acquired by ROD this season and it's proving to be a huge winner for them as Pretty Thieves reached 100 million viewers at 10pm against heavy competition growing 20 million viewers out of Baywatch. Right now Pretty Thieves is their highest rated scripted program on the network pending how Dallas Cowgirls Undercover does tomorrow night for ROD.
ROD can get back on track as they're the favorite to win the night tomorrow as their Dallas Cowgirls doubleheader should give them a sizable enough lead over ICE and NBC who has struggled on Mondays to start out this new season. The whole city of Dallas will be watching ROD tomorrow night although the new ICE drama Truck Ladies scored very well the last two weeks in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market area so that could effect its ratings quite a bit. The Carpenters Hour heads to Philly to find some of that soul talent that hails from there. NBC made some scheduling changes but they haven't cancelled CSI: Los Angeles just yet so this might be CSI: LA's last chance to turn it around as there's no way NBC will keep it going into October if it fails again in the ratings and is Jaws on its last legs as well?
