SOMETHING ABOUT AMELIA REMAKE BRINGS IN A HUGE DAYTIME AUDIENCE
ICE continues to cook as the afternoon section of their schedule continues to bring in the viewers as Staying Alive fourth day of action drew in 36 million viewers with Youthful Daydreamers drawing in 38.20 million viewers of their own. Those soaps led into the season's first daytime TV movie event with the reboot premiere of Something About Amelia which was a hit controversial film that came out on January 9, 1984 airing on the ABC Television Network starring Ted Danson, Glenn Close, and Roxana Zal. In this edition, ICE new star rookie Melissa Alonso played the role of Amelia with Roxana Zal playing her mentor who had been through the same thing she been through at a slightly younger age. The movie event bought in 54 million viewers for ICE in the late afternoon window helping give ICE its second Thursday victory in a row over ROD who remains a force on Thursdays in daytime as their afternoon block saw a noticeable improvement as Tracy Kimmell drew in 33 million viewers while a Team ROD Practice episode drew in 26.06 million viewers as they get ready to help take down Team ICE on Tuesday up in Toronto. Tonight pageant auditions continue in Orlando for the Junior Beauty Pageant while Kansas City will host the Miss ROD Pageant auditions and NBC throws out their Must See TV comedy lineup led by their new hit TV comedy Rachel.

Something About Amelia did really well but I was going to premiere it in primetime originally but it made sense to premiere it in the Afterschool Special timeslot.
