THREE BUZZER BEATERS IN WEEK 2 CAME FROM INTERCEPTION RETURNS FOR A GAME WINNING TOUCHDOWN

We start out with those Terrible Twins out in the city of Brotherly Love in Philadelphia where the Broad Street Bullies just came off of their old west shootout against Malena Morgan and the Tampa Sol last Sunday and now this week they face another gunslinger quarterback in Paige Reifler and the Miami Sharks. The difference in this game is that the talented Broad Street Bullies defense tightened up the screws on Miami only surrendering 16 points as that Broad Street secondary is a beast starting with Jesalyn Moe who had 3 picks in this game including returning one of those for a touchdown as she completely shut her side of the defense down. Antonella Marzilli was equally impressive along with Toni Butler and Vanessa Moe put together another offensive show throwing 6 touchdowns for 450+ yards in this game as Hilarie Vitelli grabbed 3 of those from Vanessa. Broad Street evened up their record to 1-1 for the season as they finally go out on the road next weekend for the first time this season.

The Bullies registered 117.86 million viewers on the ROD airwaves getting the main game there.

For the rest of the early games we had a thriller down in the Big Easy in New Orleans as they opened up their home slate at the dome as they look much better than anticipated this season but unfortunately Tonya Krosney and the Russia Eskimos escaped one as Tonya got the game winning interception at the buzzer to the break the Originals fans hearts 24-20. Janet Moore and the Detroit Fury had themselves a field day on the Washington Americans as Janet had 4 touchdown passes with 2 to Gigi Midgley and the other 2 to went to Nancy Kimmell and on the defensive side this was the Fury's first game with the Summers sisters Kya and Mackinley as they both now play for the Los Angeles franchise and will make their debuts tomorrow night in Vegas but the Detroit defense still balled led by Jezebel James who was a monster getting 5 sacks in this game as Detroit improves to 2-0 as they'll be in Boston next weekend for their first road contest of the season. The Madison Beer led New York Hitmen got another great rushing performance out of running back Victoria Konefal who rushed for 165 yards and grabbed two touchdowns in this game as New York swiped past the Lake Erie Harmonies 28-14 out in Cleveland to go 2-0 this season and the only standout is Mariana Phillips for the Harmonies as she had a pick in this game and 9 tackles for her team but they're unfortunately 0-2 right now and both of their first two games were at home. The British Invasion big 3 of Farah Holt, Joanna Halpin, and Megan May Williams had their contest against Atlanta under control as the Legacies are surprisingly 0-2 this season. Farah Holt had 3 touchdown connections to Joanna Halpin in this game while Megan May Williams added in 14 tackles on the defensive side of her own including getting a fumble return for a touchdown as London is 2-0 to start the new season. The last early game was the Jacksonville Stripes going overseas to improve to 2-0 as Jasmine Sanders and Sara Sampaio rolled over the Amsterdam Heinekens who will have to rebuild after this season.

ICE's regional coverage grabbed 82.50 million viewers against NBC's 82.12 million which featured that close contest between Russia and New Orleans.

VIKA BRONOVA & THE QUEBEC NORDIQUES START HOT AT 2-0

For the afternoon games the main game was the Houston Oilers and the Quebec Nordiques over on NBC but this was never a contest as Quebec was well in control from the start as Vika Bronova was slinging that rock all game long to Hanna Edwinson connecting for at least 4 touchdowns in this game and defensively Lulu Leithold and Airee Brooks led the charge as Airee despite being incarcerated is able to play her games but ICE is appealing that decision and she might be free on Monday and to celebrate her early release Airee Brooks took control getting 12 tackles in this game and Lulu Leithold got 2 picks as the Nordiques start the new season 2-0. In what might be one of the games of the year the Boston Hoods got their first win in franchise history thanks to one of their New England daughters in Talia Scoggins-Alfonso as she grabbed the game winning interception in overtime to win the game as a bunch of Boston fans filled up Chase Field in Phoenix for their home opener. Arizona was a real surprise last week getting that win over Houston on the road but the team looks much improved by their new defensive leader Sarah Simmons and they made this one tough for Boston. Mila Gunz whose the quarterback did a great job in this one although Sarah Simmons did get a pick off of her in this ballgame it looks like she might be ready for a potential game of the week between the Fury and the Hoods next Sunday. For the rest of the games Colorado staged off a close victory to the now talent less Chicago Enforcers 19-18 and Mexico got the board with their first win of the season in their home debut against the lowly Nashville Ladies 21-3 as Rocky Barnes was the standout in that game.

NBC had the main game with the Quebec Nordiques getting 112.58 million viewers but because it was a blowout from the start ROD led the way again 144 million viewers which was a new network-high for daytime for Lucy Hale's network thanks to the overtime coverage the Hoods-Desert game and ICE had the lowly Chicago-Colorado matchup which got 75.40 million viewers. ROD got the win in daytime coming in 1st place while ICE was in second place and NBC was a huge improvement from last Sunday averaging a season-high so far 40 million viewers on average in daytime.

THE HERBERT TWINS HAVE ARRIVED LADIES & GENTLEMEN

Now moving onto the late games we had the game of the day and the game of the week as Elle Alexandra and Chase Carter brought their Dallas Cowgirls to town against Toronto as Dallas continues their nightmarish Canadian trip at the start of the season. This was a huge game for both teams as Dallas needed to recover after the abuse they faced against Quebec in Montreal last week and Toronto is stuck in a tough division where Quebec has started the season 2-0 and Norwood along with BC are looking pretty good. This was a great game honestly as it started out on the ground for both teams as Chase Carter had another 100-yard rushing game getting two touchdowns in support of Elle Alexandra who threw for 2 touchdowns and Audreyana Williams had a rushing and receiving touchdown in this game with 155 all-purpose yards in this game. Lindsey Visser and Lisa Grantham continue to have great receiving games this season in support for Ophelie Guillermand who is in a tough spot at quarterback for the Icegals getting heat from the fanbase wanting to get Strawberry Shields there in a trade but Ophelie is giving them no reason to complain to start this season. Defensively is where it's at for the Icegals getting huge games from Lorenea Rape, Jessie Anzalone, Melissa Alonso, Yulia Osmond, Marissa Robertson, Neta Alchemist, and Ivy Herbert. Let's talk about those Herbert Twins Mackenzie and Ivy as both of them made their WFL debuts in this game fitting right in as Mackenzie played at linebacker and got a few snaps and looked well polished there but Ivy Herbert had the debut performance of all debut performances.

With the game in overtime it became a thriller for the fans up in Toronto on their home opener as Elle Alexandra was actually driving towards getting a game winning touchdown but since Dallas needed a touchdown not a field goal to win the game she was forced to make some passes since at this point the defense started keying up on Chase Carter. Elle Alexandra tried to throw a toss pass to Abby Champion that backfired and Ivy Herbert snatched that bitch for the game winning interception the third buzzer beater in that fashion on the day in the WFL. Ivy Herbert made the crowd go crazy as Elle and the Dallas fanbase was all in shock as the Cowgirls are surprisingly 0-2 to start the season and Toronto keeps up with the Nordiques at 2-0. This interception took place inside of primetime and it resulted in some historic ratings performance the game itself got a new daytime record topping last week's Paris Bulldogs versus Detroit Fury game at 150 million viewers. Primetime numbers aren't out yet but they're expected to break the Monday Night Football ratings record set this past week for sure as we're still waiting to see what will be the first NITRO program to crack 200 million viewers this season.

In the other game over on ROD we had Strawberry & Kay Shields ballin' out up in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle for the Jewel's home opener against Heather Clauson and the Anaheim Oranges. Strawberry & Kay continue to be the headline story of the season the way they're killing up there in Seattle as they win their game with ease 42-21 to go 2-0 this season.

Tonight we'll have Bridget Satterlee and those defensively minded Milwaukee Millers take on the Minnesota Viqueens in Minneapolis on Sunday Night Football over on NBC and following the game will be a special preview of The Waves. ICE has the series premiere of Self-Defense behind the New England auditions in Boston for the NGIT Pageant. ROD will have the second week of Eight Is Enough, Baywatch, and Pretty Thieves trio leading into the return of Dasha Dereviankina and the BC Grizzlies taking on the Tokyo Suns at home in BC Place and the Sydney Kangaroos take on Natasha Herbst and the Bay Area Quakes out in Oakland.
