FRIENDS IS BACK WITHOUT JOEY AND GETS SOME ICE VIEWERS TO GROW FROM TUESDAY'S PREMIERE
ICE finished in last place for the very first time this season which meant this was a key night for both ROD and SBC to sneak in some points and gain a win and Lucy Hale was able to gain their 2nd win of the season over SBC as so far ROD has gotten both of their wins on Thursday nights thanks to the two beauty pageant competitions. ROD got 4 points tonight to grab 16 for the season while SBC grabbed 2 points to get to 13 points so ICE stayed pat at 25 points.
ROD for the second Thursday in a row might've proved that they will own Thursdays this fall as their prized offseason acquisition of ICE's Junior Beauty Pageant scored another 100+ million viewers as it didn't shed that many viewers from the premiere and against a high scoring Rachel and NITRO's newest draft competition Teen Athlete and it got 95 million viewers against it in that 8pm hour but grew to 101.4 million viewers in that second hour. Junior Beauty Pageant has been must see television on Thursdays for ROD and proved to be a great lead-in for the Miss ROD Pageant which grew out of the Junior Beauty Pageant for the second straight week to 106.3 million viewers to cap the night for ROD.
Sofie Dossi was the lead auditioner for the Norwood auditions for the Junior Beauty Pageant.
This is a great sign for ROD since Teen Athlete premiered on ICE this week and clearly took some viewers away this week but Teen Athlete was way more affected and we'll get into its ratings in a little bit. ROD right now can easily own Thursdays right now because they're strong from top to bottom and this is just the audition stage so once the live competition starts in November the ratings may go further up. Lucy Hale made a real smart decision grabbing the Junior Beauty Pageant.
MADISON BEER MAKES HER SBC DEBUT
In just one more day SBC will become NBC and they're already resembling the old NBC with Friends on a Thursday night as Rachel has scored two huge home runs for its two-part premiere as Rachel actually grew on Thursday from its premiere capturing the highest ratings of the night at 122.4 million viewers making it the most watched program since Team ICE on Tuesday as The Wrong Students was under 120 million viewers the night before.
Rachel's key to the ratings uptick might be the fact that most ICE viewers missed the premiere on Tuesday due to Team ICE so they tuned in tonight as ICE is much weaker on Thursdays. ICE has been very closely connected to Madison Beer since she teased going to ICE last week only to change her mind after her visit there on Friday and now she's gotten bullied by several members of ICE about her questionable sexuality so there was probably a lot of curiosity in her acting abilities but we also got ex-ICE Starlet G. Hannelius making a guest star appearance in this episode as she made her official SBC debut as well so there was plenty for ICE viewers to see.
Without question right now Rachel has started as a huge hit as people were clearly missing Friends and are getting their Friends fix on SBC but we still need to see how the show settles in after the premiere starting next week but so far so good for SBC who will be next NBC the next time Rachel airs.
My Gay Neighbors premiered next and made its official SBC network premiere after running ROD last year and the ICE comedy grabbed just a little under 100 million viewers as it dropped over 20 million viewers from Rachel for a retention rate of 81% so not too bad for My Gay Neighbors as Kaitlyn Dever might have herself a hit comedy. My Gay Neighbors changing networks was great for the show as the ratings are much larger this season than last year with the higher lead-in. A lot of people think this could be the next Will & Grace another NBC show that aired on Must See TV Thursday nights back in the 90s and early 2000s. SBC has a huge LGBTQ community and a lot of their actors are fighting against the bigotry of being a gay NITRO actor so this show represents their community week in and week out so this is a good start it could've had a better retention rate but Rachel rated so high it was going to fall quite a bit but this is still good.
TONYA KROSNEY'S DEBUT DRAWS 88 MILLION VIEWERS
Another huge debut was for one of SBC's prized rookies Tonya Krosney who made her NITRO debut tonight on Miami's Friends along with Sarah McDaniel who was drafted by SBC right behind her and Maya Owens all made their debuts. The premiere of Miami's Friends was heavily watched and we've seen plenty of rookies so far this season have huge ratings for their debuts as we saw Dasha get a high number last night for The Wrong Students.
From there SBC's ratings got smaller and smaller as The Chicago Show wasn't promoted as well as the first three shows and slipped quite a bit but Seattle Mysteries behind it stayed over 60 million viewers but lost half of the audience from Sunday Night Football. There was a lot of people making the case that Seattle Mysteries didn't deserve to have the high-rated accolades it got over The Wrong Students and other dramas that trailed it due to the lead-in. Seattle Mysteries right now has the highest lead-ins that its ever had so the show is getting heavily sampled right now.
ICE was way behind on Tuesday as Teen Athlete only got 61 million viewers which makes it the lowest rated draft competition on the air right now and going against Rachel and Junior Beauty Pageant is pretty rough and Janit O'Day had a rerun as its lead-out. If ICE is satisfied with these ratings then they'll probably leave it there.
Janit O'Day's second part of its annual First Day of School premiere episode pulled the ratings back up to 70 million viewers and was able to impressively beat Seattle Mysteries head-to-head at 10pm that was enough to give Fugitive at 17 some cushion to reach almost 75 million viewers at 11pm coming in 2nd place in the hour behind ROD's pageant. Fugitive at 17 was much higher on RTN last week for the premiere but if it can settle into this area this is very good for the drama.
Next week Self-Defense comes in for ICE at 9pm which could be huge for Miami's Friends performance next week.
Tomorrow night it's the second edition of Kelly Green Fridays as the New Girls in Town Pageant is back but everybody is buzzing over the diss show war between the newly revived YouTube Life on SBC against Molly Ephraim's established super hit Molly in South Philly. ROD premieres Koy Jung's new variety show which is rumored to be replaced soon by a new diss show on ROD coming soon. Steffy and Quinn week 2 ratings will be interesting as well. Tomorrow will be SBC's last day under the SBC name before becoming NBC on Saturday.
