THE DASHING ONE DASHA DEREVIANKINA MAKES HER ACTING DEBUT TONIGHT ON THE WRONG STUDENTS PREMIERE TO RECORD RATINGS

After a highly competitive Tuesday things calmed down quite a bit on Wednesday but this was a night when you looked on the schedule always belonged to one network and that was ICE.

The Wrong Students was the most anticipated scripted new drama of the fall and maybe the entire season and viewers had to wait a full 2 years for it to finally premiere after it made a huge buzz a couple of years ago with the unbelievable trailer that was presented during the summer of 2016. People have really gotten into this bad girls genre that was built here in NITRO after Janit O'Day and Heather's first TV movie premiered way back in 2009 and the tradition continues with The Wrong Students which carries on that infatuation with this genre. What makes The Wrong Students different from these other shows is that the girls seem super cold-blooded and a little bit more intimidating from the jump and it's super violent in the kill scenes. Now that the hype of the premiere has come and gone how have people reacted to the show?

It's gotten to some water cooler talk on social media in the overnight hours as people are talking about the kill that Dasha had in the episode and how nasty and cruel it was as that killing scene has already gotten 15 million views on YouTube in just 4 hours of being uploaded. Joey Lawrence was also making noise in how his character was sexually seduced by Dasha on the show as well and a lot of people thinks he will get raped soon enough.

Dasha Dereviankina could have an impact on this show like Rena Sofer was as Quinn Fuller on Sheila Carter last season as Sheila Carter was another series that carried the bad girls genre tradition here in NITRO.

TEEN ANGELS GETS THE NIGHT STARTED OFF RIGHT

One of the more popular dramas on all of NITRO returned in ICE's Teen Angels which started the night for them with over a 100 million viewers for the season premiere episode so this is a great start for the hit crime drama's second season which started off as Tammy Angel back in 2009 and evolved into a teen sleuth version of Charlie's Angels mixed with 21 Jump Street with the high school undercover angle. Teen Angels has been a great repeater as well so its syndication value is going way up here and with the new and improved dynamic cast the show is energized with talent all over the place. Santana Shields was noted for carrying the series last season and now Farah Holt takes over as the lead star of the show as ICE hopes she has that Farrah Fawcett flair to her.

Next up was The Wrong Students completing the double tandem of the Psycho Bitch Night duo as the hype of the series premiere of the biggest new drama of the season fueled the numbers to a record-breaking 119 million viewers which is the highest rating to-date for the premiere of a new scripted series on NITRO Television. The skies the limit for the major potential of growth for this series no doubt about it.

The late night comedy block made its debut next led by the network premiere of the Saved By the Bell revival The Adult Years which premiered last season on ROD to hit ratings came back home to ICE this season after ICE opted not to have their hit comedy on a rival network similar to what happened with ROD taking Baywatch back from SBC. In both cases the moves were made to actually boost the ratings for each as ROD felt like SBC didn't have Baywatch in the best position to succeed much better than it did and ICE felt like The Adult Years would do better surrounded around their massive hit comedies. The Adult Years this season was asked to lead-off the new comedy block but it will be on behind the hot series The Wrong Students. Joey Lawrence who was in The Wrong Students tapes The Adult Years live this season so a unique back-to-back scheduling method there for his fanbase.

The Adult Years grabbed 108 million viewers out of The Wrong Students' big lead-in grabbing retention of 91% at 10pm giving a special primetime outing of Kelly Kapowski a huge lead-in to get to 106 million viewers. Kelly Kapowski was the only comedy in NITRO history the season before to premiere to over 100 million viewers back in November 2013 so Kelly Kapowski even though it's in daytime now is no stranger to these huge numbers. Both series unfortunately fell short of passing up Rachel though which is the bad news but was well ahead of the rest of the TGIT comedies from last night over on SBC. Kelly Kapowski will keep the timeslot until DJ Becky's Friends is ready to premiere in October and Bastard Kids will air in the 11pm timeslot and then move to 10:30pm in October.

Closing out the night for ICE was the season premiere of another hit show Angry Landlords which started its third season to 97.8 million viewers after growing out of the Toronto's Friends franchise documentary special lead-in which fell to 85 million viewers so this was a growth of 12 million viewers.

The late night block seems to be working just fine for ICE but the question is will the Friday comedies rate higher than the Wednesday adult themed comedies.

From here it was actually a close race for 2nd place between ROD and SBC with ROD just edging off SBC by mere thousands of viewers as both networks averaged over 55 million viewers. The season ratings race in primetime is pretty close between the two as ROD only leads SBC by a point and with ICE winning three consecutive nights this week they've gotten way in front now. Based on last week's numbers it looks like ICE will be weak tomorrow night so this is an opportunity for both ROD and SBC to get some points tomorrow and for ICE's hot streak to end until Friday. SBC has a real chance to hold off their ROD rivals over this upcoming weekend so we'll see what happens there.

ROD got off to a fast start with the season premiere of Karlie Kloss' hit comedy The Nanny Diaries which grabbed 72 million viewers to start the evening with a special one-hour premiere. The 80s revival reboot of Charles in Charge as Scott Baio comes back to ROD for the first time since 2010 will have his comedy airing in three weeks to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the series on Wednesday October 3, 2018 so The Nanny Diaries will continue airing two episodes to catch up on last season's late start before the strike.

The problem started at 9pm and why this race was so close with SBC and that was due to Single at Fifty getting the lowest ratings on the network through the first eight nights of the season getting all the way down to 37.15 million viewers for the second episode. With Joyce DeWitt ditching the show to leave NITRO temporarily it looks like the show is in big trouble after changing networks this season. It looks like people are no longer interested in the series and Lucy Hale may not hesitate to cancel it since it really affected her new variety show I Love Lucy Hale which had to grow almost 20 million viewers out of it and didn't land over 60 million viewers to lead-in better for The LA which didn't really drop at all behind.

I Love Lucy Hale showed that the audience is there but the lead-in was real lousy and The LA didn't have much of a chance so expect the second cancellation of the season in primetime behind ICE's Cherry Street Boarding School to have Single at Fifty cancelled next by ROD. What ROD fills that hour with is anybody's guess though as there are plans according to ROD sources to have Tracy Kimmell's new sitcom or the Tracy's 3 Girls reboot revival air on Wednesday nights this season but those shows probably won't be ready until October so ROD will need to figure out something quick to fill that timeslot out.

SBC got a strong start from Aria, The Pretty Little Bitch which may have single-handily put SBC into a position to almost capture a 2nd place victory as Aria stayed hot getting 68 million viewers for its season premiere so Aria is still a hot commodity in NITRO as Lucy Hale got some good news there from her other NITRO series and the Janit O'Day franchise looks to have succeeded on all of the Janit O'Day series this season as Heather is expected to do well when it premieres this Halloween.

Gimme a Break! which got a record high in the ratings aired a special second episode after the 90-minute premiere of Aria, The Pretty Little Bitch cooled off a lot to 58 million viewers as there's questions about the show durability but it has been a good utility player for SBC for a long-time now.

The premiere of Killer Love got 51.44 million viewers which is okay as the series didn't really have any hype or buzz coming into the premiere and has been seen as a bench warmer for the Halloween dramas Michael Myers and Heather but Escape the Night completely bombed after it getting only 42.35 million viewers which is starting to become a low rating lately than it was this time last season in September 2013 when 43 million viewers was solid but now it's turned into a number that could get you cancelled in primetime as these shows getting over 100 million viewers has moved the bar up quite a bit now. We are all trying to figure out where the Mendoza line has been raised to now as it used to be 35 million viewers but it might getting closer to 50 million now. SBC brings in The Waves starring Madison Beer next Wednesday so that's going to be fun to see how that rates.

Overall though ROD and SBC has some work to do on these nights especially ROD but for right now the domination by ICE at the top might be too much if Teen Angels and The Wrong Students keep growing.

Tomorrow night we'll have week 2 of the audition process for the Junior Beauty and Miss ROD pageants on ROD then SBC has night 2 of the Rachel premiere and the season premiere of My Gay Neighbors so let's see if SBC can hold off ICE who has Teen Athlete airing and the second episode of Janit O'Day annual First Day of School premiere and the return of Fugitive at 17 on the ICE Television Network. It should be an interesting night that's for sure.

Tracy Kimmell's new comedy and Tracy's 3 Girls have officially been ordered to series and will both debut sometime in either October or November. Babs and Kya second season 2 will also be ordered to series as well.

ICE is red hot right now fourth straight consecutive night averaging over 100 million viewers.

This Wednesday night lineup got the job done and it looks more powerful than it did before the season started as Teen Angels and The Wrong Students look like a dominant combo as I really believe that combo is what kept ROD and SBC from getting bigger numbers and The Wrong Students will probably get bigger as the season goes on.

The comedy block is not complete yet but The Adult Years and Angry Landlords are rock solid as that was a great move that ICE made to move The Adult Years to ICE.

Aria looks really good but everything behind it looked low. ROD made a great decision in cancelling Single at Fifty as they gotta get that 9pm hour fixed.

Should be interesting between Miley and Lucy now! Let me get my popcorn ready!
