In the relay race we pickup from the opening race that was won by Team ICE 4-0 so they get a shot at gaining an extra win off of Degrassi High here if they win the relay race and makeup for the loss in basketball.

This will be a relay race measured at 10 × 100 meters relay just like the opening race which is a 100 metered race will be ran at the same distance for the relays.

It's simple each team has a field of 10 runners and the first team to complete the 10 laps wins the race and gains a win for their team.

RELAY RACE RESULTS

- Team ICE finished the relay race at a time of 1:42:48 (102 seconds) to Sunrise College Prep's time of 1:50:14 (110 seconds)

Team ICE who represents East York defeated Sunrise College Prep 2-0 in races today with Kay Shields running at 9.42 seconds to close out Sunrise College Prep in the final lap with the fastest time around the track.

COMPETITION THOUGHTS

Team ICE straight dominated Sunrise College Prep in the relay races from the very start as Patrick Westbrook and her new relay partner Patricia Nery started the race very fast giving the Herbert Twins plenty of breathing room.

The Herbert Twins ran a very good race in their very first action in their Team ICE debuts as they both averaged out at 10.05 seconds together with Ivy running slightly faster than her sister Mackenzie.

Nancy "Jet" Kimmell got great contributions from the first five runners to hold down the fort as ICE hadn't trailed Sunrise at any point through the time she finished the race.

Lisa Grantham had the third best time running at 9.92 seconds improving slightly on last week's clip of 9.93 so she's been very effective in her runs and Penny Perchik ran at 9.96 seconds.

Supersonic Kay put on a show in the final lap improving on her run earlier today in the opening race as she ran closer to world record levels at an impressive 9.42 seconds which is the highest in the high school league.

Coach Wendy Robertson may not need to make any real decision as her three weakest runners were Patricia Nery, Emma Fuhrman, and Madison Pettis but none of them ran bad so she might stick with this same group next week.

Quickspeed Davis who ran in this race finished well behind Kay Shields at 9.80 seconds so it was never a showdown since Team ICE finished 8 seconds ahead of Sunrise.

ICE now has 8 victories on Sunrise going into the very last event of the evening in football.

You know what ICE should keep this field like it is until they get an opponent that comes anywhere close to their time or beats them because right now this team is setup right they could replace a couple of runners though. Keep it this way for right now though.

Yeah, no changes will be made to the relay team I am very pleased with this week's results but there could still be changes throughout the season but we have so many problems in other sports on Team ICE that our racing teams are the least of our concerns.

With ROD and SBC stars involved next week that will make things a little bit more difficult though.

I got some fast runners on my team I think if SBC doesn't screw it up we can get the time closer to what ICE has since this isn't a one-on-one race.

I think next week's relay race will be super interesting because if SBC and ROD together can improve that time that Sunrise had this week it's going to push ICE to make changes if it's too lose or they lose altogether.

It will be interesting but nobody can run faster than Nancy or Kay so they got no shot.

That's my problem there I don't think anybody's going to outrun ICE in a close race because of Nancy and Kay and honestly, Keri Nee Adkins and the Herbert Twins are pretty fucking fast too. As long as Patrick Westbrook wins the first relay it will be curtains from there.

Nobody can beat that part of my team I might only have two runners that are in line with the competition but everyone is too fucking fast as I really drafted for talent.

I look at the other teams and I don't think they have enough either and it's based on the way you guys drafted not just in 2016 but in 2010 and 2013 as well.

Yeah, most of our speedsters were drafted in the earlier drafts and Nancy wasn't drafted at all she came up in 2009 with Tracy.
