GAME THOUGHTS
This hockey team just like the baseball team is putting on a clinic right now scoring goals at an excessive rate as Marie Avgeropoulos has this group rolling right now as they beat Norwood's best 9-3.
Team ICE played the role of spoiler as they dismantled Sunrise College Prep at the brand new Miller Lite Center which just opened up its doors a week ago and had a sellout crowd of 38,111 on the city's west side.
Right now so far between the Toronto Icegals opening Air Canada Park on Sunday evening and now Team ICE opening the new Miller Lite Center they've really spoiled Norwood's two new crown jewel centers.
ICE faced the best high school basketball team in the city and lost in the final seconds then faces the city's best high school hockey team and blow them out by 6 goals so this hockey team is a well-oiled engine right now.
Penny Perchik was the number one star of the game getting the first hat trick of her career scoring 3 goals and getting 2 assists for a total of 5 points today as Penny Perchik is stepping up from her disappointing debut last week.
All eyes were on the huge debut of Janet Moore in a Team ICE sweater and Janet didn't disappoint playing center on the team's top line scoring 2 goals and getting 4 assists for 6 points in her spectacular debut.
Zoey Stamkos also returned to ICE and got a goal and an assist in her ICE return tonight coming over from RTN.
Nancy Nery on that top line scored a couple of goals today so just like in baseball both Penny and Nancy look like they'll be threats as they were together on the power plays but will ICE put them on the same line together?
Defensively ICE was rough and tough as their physical play is making a huge difference in these games as this helped backup goaltender only surrender 3 goals in this game as Vika Bronova will be back in net next week.
The best defensive players were Lorenea Rape who continues to look real good for Team ICE along with Bridget Satterlee and Jezebel James.
Joel's sister Yulia Osmond played center on the team's second line and she grabbed 3 assists so Yulia is playing very well right now.
Tammy Oldehoff was the main goon on the ice getting 20 penalty minutes and won all 3 of her fights as she set a tone against a rough Sunrise team who was trying to intimidate the wingers early on.
Right now Team ICE will be hard to beat in hockey once they figure out the lines right now and according to ICE sources Eva Adams might switch sports and come over to hockey from volleyball.
Ivy Herbert is expected to make her ICE debut next week on the hockey team and Dasha Dereviankina might be back in the lineup next week as well so it will be interesting who gets benched.
ICE now has 7 victories and just 1 loss on Sunrise heading into this evening's contests. They now head into the primetime events which are the final two events of the premiere episode of the season.
