BASKETBALL GAME RESULTS

- Sunrise College Prep scored 51 points during the first half against East York's 49 points

- Sunrise College Prep finished up the game scoring 109 points to beat East York's 107 points on the last shot of the game

Team ICE who represents East York lost to Sunrise College Prep 109-107 with Talia Scoggins-Alfonso in her starting debut scoring 46 points and 17 boards while Jesalyn Moe scored 33 points and dished out 12 assists in a close loss.

MATCH THOUGHTS

A much improved effort out there for Team ICE out there today in basketball as the changes in the starting lineup definitely helped the team almost complete an upset on one of the top high school basketball teams.

Although ICE lost this one making the basketball team 0-2 people were impressed by the change in the team this week and people are really raging on Sunrise who had a subpar game today.

Talia Scoggins-Alfonso made her first career start today and she gave the starting lineup along with Jesalyn Moe plenty of energy as Talia scored an unbelievable 46 points while Jesalyn put in 33 of her own for a total of 79 points.

Those 79 points between these two ladies really helped Team ICE stay real competitive in this basketball game but Jesalyn Moe went all Kobe on us with the scoring and dishing out 12 assists and getting 4 steals on defense.

Talia was just an absolute monster from the power forward position as she was everywhere on the court like LeBron James out there grabbing 17 boards as well and she really lifted the frontcourt a ton.

Erika Kundrotaite got into foul trouble early and wasn't able to be a factor in this game but they didn't really need her because Talia was on her A-game just bullying the Sunrise frontcourt.

Joanna Halpin didn't quite have the performance she had a week ago but she didn't need it as she did everything else in the ballgame to help her team keep the score close throughout the game.

Neta Alchemist was the real bright spot off the bench as she got 5 assists and 2 steals to help make a difference for this team.

Once everything tightens up maybe this ICE team can win some ballgames as Pat Riley is putting pressure on Allen Iverson to start turning in some Ws.

ICE now has 6 victories on Degrassi heading into this evening's contests. They have hockey as their last result from this afternoon.

Now, this makes things very interesting, to be honest, because this is a drastic improvement for the ICE basketball team against a more inferior opponent they probably win this game by double-digits.

I think the problem has always been the people they have on the court and you see now with better on the talent out there like Talia Scoggins-Alfonso, Jesalyn Moe, Joanna Halpin, and Neta Alchemist they're playing a lot better week-to-week they probably just have to tighten up on their defense. Maybe Romeo shouldn't be starting at the point either.

They should have Talia and Jesalyn really just go from here on out and see how it goes. The team itself still has a long ways to go but they'll be winning more than losing down the line in my opinion.

I am a little bit worried now I didn't think they would improve this fast and they've got two really good players now in the starting lineup. I still need to see more though from them.

Now, this is what I'm talking about this single change is what makes sense. Romeo is running the point because he knows the offense the best I'm trying to give the team more time to learn the system then I might have either Jesalyn or Neta run the point.

The great thing right now is that Talia is looking like a monster and I compare her more to Anthony Davis than LeBron James she can score from anywhere on the court and she's long and physical.

Hopefully, Erika Kundrotaite stays out of foul trouble so we can get this thing rolling.

The bench might need more fixing now I want to see more out of Stephanie Rose Bertram next week as well.

I see that Erika just got shipped out to ROD so ICE how will you fill that spot now?

Yeah, Erika is really going to help my team out never really thought she was a good fit with ICE but who plays center for them now?

I gotta look at it because I don't want Talia to move to center I like her as a stretch power forward. I'll probably play around with it I might start Erin Heatherton next week.

I can't wait to put my basketball team together but I also want to see who I can submit to beat Team ICE next week.

ROD you should start testing during these weeks before your full BOTNS matchup against Team ICE.

ICE you can definitely play around with your lineups until you find a decent center to start the games with going forward.

That's what I'm going to do as our team doesn't have a set lineup just yet anyways so we can still search around.

I think you guys will find a lineup eventually that's perfect just way too much talent on this team.

Exactly there's way too much talent on this team it'll all come together eventually the biggest thing that I've got to figure out is if I have to fire Allen Iverson from coaching at some point.

When it comes to Allen Iverson we'll have to see how the team is doing within a month from now if the team hasn't put together at least a couple of wins then a coaching decision may need to be made. I would probably promote Michael B. Jordan if a decision needed to be made.

Yeah a decision will be made before the 2nd half of the season because when November gets here the playoff run starts and we face SBC at BOTNS that month as well so I want everything tightened up by that point.
