IT'S THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING!!

THE FIRST FOOTBALL GAME OF THE SEASON IS HERE!!

Strawberry Shields debut at quarterback has been spectacular so far as she started the game by lobbing a touchdown to her sister Kay Shields who took it all the way into the end zone for a 45-yard combination.

Then Audreyana Williams got involved on the next offensive drive out of the backfield to take a long touchdown to the house putting Team ICE up 14-3 at that point of the ballgame.

The defense through this point were on their A-game except for the secondary where Degrassi High had a hot passing game during that 1st quarter as Dasha Dereviankina let two deep passes behind her as she's struggling.

Juliane Landers ankle has been coming up super lame and eventually after she allowed a big catch on her she got taken out of the game.

Then the last straw for Dasha Dereviankina was when she allowed a 63-yd touchdown on her and Dasha had a huge fight on the sidelines with the coaching staff and Coach Paige Van Buren told her to go to the locker room as she's done for the evening as far as we know here.

Nancy Nery came in for Dasha and Natasha Herbst came in for Juliane Landers and that seemed to take care of the secondary the rest of the game as the turning point for the defense came when Bridget Satterlee intercepted a pass for a 37-yd touchdown score to give ICE the lead 21-10 in the 2nd quarter.

Then from there the defense was amazing only giving up 10 yards the rest of the half as Lorenea Rape and Jezebel James have combined for 5 sacks on the quarterback in this game so far for ICE.

Strawberry Shields would give her sister another touchdown to close out the half that one of the 69-yard variety to give ICE the lead 28-10 going into halftime.

Strawberry has been flawless going 17 for 19 in passing and throwing 2 touchdowns with no interceptions.

Injury wise running back Jasmine Sanders suffered a rib injury her status for the rest of the game is uncertain but Audreyana Williams has done a great job in the backfield today getting 145 yards and 1 touchdown so far in this game.

Lindsay Roberts also suffered an injury favoring a shoulder before the game even started Lisa Grantham came in for her at receiver and has done a nice job so far getting 3 catches for 42 yards. Tight end Joanna Halpin has 3 catches for 38 yards as well.

Also back on defense Jesalyn Moe got an interception right before Strawberry threw that last touchdown to Supersonic Kay before the half she's having a nice solid debut.

So far so good for Team ICE as they may look to blow this thing open in the 2nd half as the defense with the changes seem to be clicking way more right now.

ICE just pretty much exploded during the 2nd half and the 3rd quarter of play here as the defense locked in and the offense was let loose.

The ICE offense got the ball first right out of the half and Strawberry Shields threw a touchdown to Lisa Grantham which was the very first touchdown of her career.

Then on defense Jesalyn Moe returns an interception for 78-yds down the field to give ICE a 42-10 lead and it was pretty much over right there as Degrassi QB David Underwood who is the nephew of Matt Underwood couldn't do anything right.

Audreyana Williams has been a huge threat out of that backfield as she leads a drive that her and Joanna Halpin were seeing eye to eye on and Joanna Halpin scored the first touchdown of her career giving ICE a 49-10 lead.

The defense has been locked and loaded as they started feeding interceptions as Jesalyn Moe has been a monster getting her third pick of the game. The other interception belonged to Natasha Herbst who just came in the game for Juliane Landers after she got injured.

The linebackers have been tackling machines so far as Bridget Satterlee leads the team with 11 tackles so far followed by Megan May Williams with 9, Neta Alchemist with 8 tackles, and Melissa Alonso with 6 tackles combining for 34 tackles from Maxie Justice's linebackers through 3 quarters.

The last touchdown belonged to who else? KAY MOTHERFUCKING SUPERSONIC SHIELDS who caught her 3rd touchdown of the game.

Strawberry Shields now has 5 touchdowns and 356 yards in this game and throwing 31 completions off of 34 attempts.

Beneath an eerie fog that shrouded Arrowhead Stadium as Team ICE was poised to grab another NITRO championship on the BOTNS stage

But seldom did ICE play the style that had won them two championship prior in 2009 and 2012

As the night wore on this team didn't look the same as they look tired and beaten up as SBC hammered them and then took out their soul in the ultimate win over King ICE

The loss was so bad that the team was broken up three years later

Below is a short story of how tonight's debut of rookies was created by one memorable night in NITRO history that is being remembered this season

At her introductory press conference ex-ICE Head Coach Jessica Lowndes said that this was an 2013 ICE team with top-tier talent

And one that should compete for another BOTNS championship

On Thursday October 3, 2013 in Kansas City, Missouri it wouldn't take long to show everybody watching that they were a championship team

But on this day they faced a SBC team that was hungry and ready to win a championship themselves it would be their first one

Team SBC remains the last original 3 team in NITRO to have never won a BOTNS championship and with drafting Joel Osmond they felt like they could do it

SBC proved it by beating Team ROD to get here

In a close battle both teams went back-and-forth in an offensive showdown between both teams leading to overtime

Little did anybody know that ICE's season would turn into a bad direction and their future would change

People were watching the beginning of the end of the Allison Shields era in Toronto

A dark shadow simply loomed over Canada's little maple leaf darlings

Radio call

"Well folks it's going to come down to this play to determine a winner here as we know if ICE gets the ball back they will score"

"It's 4th down and 17 and SBC is looking for a miracle on this play here in overtime"

"Joel Osmond takes the snap and looks for a receiver and finds Brian White and there goes Brian White as he's in for a SBC TOUCHDOWN!"

"SBC WINS! SBC WINS! SBC WINS! THEY DEFEAT TEAM ICE IN THE BIGGEST UPSET TO-DATE IN NITRO HISTORY BOY OH BOY THIS ONE IS GOING TO HURT!"

It was a cold bitter end to fine run of success from 2009-13 for this group but just like everything in life things that are great comes to an end

For Team ICE they leave that season knowing it was one hell of a run for those first five years in NITRO but now it's time to start a new era and a new run of greatness.

Little did we all know at that time this would be the end of this ICE roster as we knew it and how important that next draft was going to be in 2016 for Team ICE.

Allison Shields and Tracy Kimmell would later be traded and a host of other players and ICE would completely rebuild their team going into the 2018-19 season five years later.

A new era has started up in Toronto and it's called the Problem Child era and in this era it's an era about intimidating their opponents to death.

It's a new attitude for a new era for a brand new look team full of babies and youthful looking faces.

Team ICE has gotten younger, stronger, faster, deeper, and better.

ICE has seen this formula for success before back in 2012 when they won their second BOTNS title and brought Paige Van Buren late in the season for that playoff run.

To help get them there they brought in Paige Van Buren to join Barbara Palvin and Kya Summers and the rest of that team to win a title that season.

Only time will tell if today's ICE Starlets can get this city another championship.

As ICE comes into the new season bringing in the youngest roster ever assembled in NITRO history with a teen coach and teen players.

This 2018-19 season is going to be a wild ride for baby ICE as they look to reestablish themselves

As movers, shakers, and record breakers with a future as bright as their past!

GAME THOUGHTS

Team ICE flat out has drastically improved as a team from last season they're just so much more faster and dangerous on the field and they've improved greatly on every level on the team and the depth is ridiculously great.

I think that's the thing to take away as ICE lost at least 4 starters on this team either due to injury or coach's substitution and it seemed like all of the backups performed well.

Strawberry Shields looked better than advertised getting almost 600 yards in the air in one game and 6 touchdowns she was just a fucking monster out there and she may have taken her game to the next level.

Kay Shields might've been the overall MVP of today's game she was just flat out ridiculous she's one hell of a wide receiver and nobody can catch her as she got 245 yards through the air and 3 touchdowns on top of that.

Lisa Grantham didn't look too bad either getting 9 catches, 91 yards, and a touchdown while other receivers like tight end Joanna Halpin looked like a comfortable option for Strawberry.

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson even caught a touchdown today to complete what was a stellar day for Aaron Carter's new offense.

The running game was on point even after Jasmine Sanders' injury as Audreyana Williams looked like Zeke Elliott or Saquan Barkley back there doing everything on the ground and in the air.

The offensive line really blocked well and kept Strawberry clean and made lanes for the running game.

Defensively for Coordinator Emily Bader man this group looked flat out ridiculous once Dasha Dereviankina came out of the game the defense didn't allow anymore touchdowns.

Lorenea Rape and Jezebel James look absolutely scary coming off the edge and disrupting the quarterback's performance.

The linebacking core is just absolutely phenomenal and intimidating as they all had 44 tackles combined with Bridget Satterlee leading the way in the middle at 16 tackles and an interception returned for a touchdown in this game.

Bridget Satterlee completes a very successful day for her NITRO debut here on Team ICE in three different sports baseball, hockey, and football.

The defensive MVP had to be Jesalyn Moe who got three interceptions and locked down her receiver the whole game she was smart and cerebral out there and Kya Summers did her thing as well.

The defense drastically improved when Nancy Nery filled in Dasha's spot at free safety and Natasha Herbst came in for Juliane Landers.

Also later in the game Jesse Anzalone came in during the 4th quarter when the game got out of hand and she looked good out there she's a candidate to steal a spot in that starting lineup for the defense.

All in all this was a spectacular performance for new teen Head Coach Paige Van Buren who seeks to get this team a high school league championship this February.

ICE now has finished with 9 victories and just 1 loss on Degrassi to close out this night for the premiere episode of Team ICE now the girls rest up for the WFL this weekend and their next matchup in Norwood this Tuesday.

That was definitely a message sent right there that this is going to be a new kind of domination this year.

I've never had these many weapons at one-time as the depth is just so sick on this team I literally went to the bench with Nancy Nery and Natasha Herbst on defense and they played better than the starters.

I'm also thinking of making Audreyana Williams my primary starting running back and maybe Jasmine Sanders, whenever she gets back fully healthy, becomes the fullback and I'll keep Kate Li Williams as the second running back behind Audreyana. Deborah Jo Wood might be a better fit at this point playing defense somewhere and being the 3rd quarterback on the team as I'm going to keep Jelena Mariucci as the primary backup quarterback. Farah Holt will take over for Penny Perchik as the starting wide receiver knocking Lisa Grantham to the slot. Vanessa Moe probably moves to the secondary with her twin sister Jesalyn on defense.

Right now I'm just so damn thrilled that Strawberry and Kay are clicking together like this as Strawberry might be the best quarterback I've had so far as she was throwing that ball with accuracy and precision.

Kay Shields is like Randy Moss and Jerry Rice combined she can't be stopped and nobody in NITRO on the other teams will be able to stop her and Lisa Grantham looks like she can't be stopped either and when I move her into the slot to take over for Penny Perchik she's gonna be even more dangerous there.

Audreyana Williams is like Marshall Faulk back there running and catching the ball making Strawberry's job easier and I'm so glad Joanna Halpin is killing too she's like Gronk for Tom Brady.

This offense is explosive right now and that offensive line is jelling.

The defense had a shaky start but once those changes were made they locked down as this linebacking core is all over the place and really fast they cover so much ground. A lot of people didn't know Megan May Williams and Neta Alchemist can play the game and defend like that. Neta is really versatile too as she can play safety too if need be but I like her at linebacker for right now.

Jesalyn Moe is a straight beast how about my first three picks of the draft clicking with Jesalyn, Bridget Satterlee, and Lorenea Rape all three of them covering all three levels of the defense too. Jezebel James is the one I'm in tears about over here because I had no idea she would be this ready to go out of the gate she's playing her ass off without knowing the system and playcalling like that.

The thing about this defense right now I can easily change it around each week and get the same results as I'm really interested in trying Jesse Anzalone out there if Jesse works out I might switch Neta Alchemist to the free safety.

See the thing about my team this year as opposed to past years we're not top heavy at all we're super deep and all of our players can play different positions and trust me some of the girls on the bench will get some shine each week I'll play around with this lineup because I need to see what works against ROD and SBC coming up in October and November.

Expect some changes next week as I need to give some of my girls some rest anyways coming off of those WFL games anyways and I've got a rule this season nobody that plays on Monday Night Football will play the next day for Team ICE so Vika Bronova who plays quarterback for Quebec will not play next week so we'll get her backup defensive tackle in there.

I need as many girls to touch the field as much this season knowing how much of a factor injuries will be and we want to be ready for any different looks all season long.

Man, this football team is so deep right now that they had four people taken out of the gate and still did a lot of damage that's why I like your plan ICE to give the backups some opportunities and let the other girls rest after their WFL games.

I'm amazed at how your first three draft picks and we can include Farah Holt who you traded for how well they all did in this game Jesalyn Moe, Bridget Satterlee, and Lorenea Rape as they were just beastin' out there on the defensive side.

I knew you drafted for defense and a lot of your girls are defensive players but they proved they're dangerous offensive weapons as well this changes the game a little bit because ICE has the best defense I ever saw them have and then the offense looks loaded like I can't find anybody in NITRO whose gonna be able to cover Kay Shields or defend against Audreyana Williams whose a nice little scat back she'll cause matchup problems for the defense. Strawberry Shields has a cannon for an arm and her offensive line is giving her enough time to launch the football like she literally had 600 yards in this game that's just sick.

If there's one thing I would like to see different it's definitely on the defensive side letting Jesse Anzalone get some play as I would seriously consider putting Neta Alchemist next to Kya Summers or maybe giving Kya a break next week and letting Neta play next to Nancy Nery but I really want to see Jesse Anzalone at linebacker because she can be a full-time starter.
