In the relay race we pickup from the opening race that was won by Team ICE 4-0 so they get a shot at gaining an extra win off of Degrassi High here if they win the relay race and makeup for the loss in basketball. This will be a relay race measured at 10 × 100 meters relay just like the opening race which is a 100 metered race will be ran at the same distance for the relays.
It's simple each team has a field of 10 runners and the first team to complete the 10 laps wins the race and gains a win for their team.
RELAY RACE RESULTS
- Team ICE finished the relay race at a time of 1:43:10 (103 seconds) to Degrassi High's time of 1:55:59 (115 seconds)
Team ICE who represents East York defeated Degrassi High 2-0 in races today with Kay Shields running at 9.56 seconds to close out Degrassi High in the final lap with the fastest time around the track.
COMPETITION THOUGHTS
Team ICE dominated Degrassi High in the relay races from the very start as Patrick Westbrook and Hilarie Vitelli got this field off to a great start but things got tight in the middle until Nancy Kimmell got everything together there. Lisa Grantham had a real good lap as she's got some real good speed she finished her lap at 9.93 seconds and could be considered to start competing in the opening races. Kay Shields as usual was the standout as she completed her lap in 9.56 seconds the fastest of any athlete out there today improving on the 9.73 seconds from earlier in the day so she's getting faster as the day goes on.
Kay Shields continues to have a phenomenal debut as she continues to have a great first day and will now play football coming up starting at wide receiver with her sister Strawberry throwing to her. For Team ICE this time could be faster for them so look for new racing Head Coach Wendy Robertson to make some changes ahead of next week but no doubt this could be the fastest team in all of NITRO and on the high school level.
ICE now has 8 victories on Degrassi going into the very last event of the evening in football.

I got the fastest human on the planet in Kay Shields!
Lisa Grantham is really fast I think if SBC had her that would've given them a faster team.
I think next week I'll add Eva Adams onto this team and maybe one of the Peric sisters.

With a couple of changes, your team can get their time down by about 5-10 seconds as I would experiment with Kay Shields leading off so the team gets a huge lead and close it out with Nancy Kimmell or have Nancy lead it off as well. Eva Adams is fast and should be added and if Neta Alchemist wasn't playing football I would've added her in here. Nicole Meyer should be added in and Jasmine Sanders taken out.
