STRAWBERRY SHIELDS TO LEAD ICE OFFENSE IN FOOTBALL THIS SEASON
Strawberry Shields has already made an immediate impact on her new studio and a new team as Strawberry is one hell of an athlete like the rest of her family and she throws the football like her older sister Santana Shields who used to quarterback Team ICE back in 2010 and 2012. Strawberry is one hell of an athlete although she thinks her little sister Kay is way better but Strawberry can play any sport that Team ICE wants her to play she says the only two sports she's still working on is soccer and skateboarding but she can do everything else just fine but she says her main sport is roller derby and football is second but she hopes she can use these Team ICE games to get her ready for her big games on Sundays for the Seattle Jewel who she plays for this season.
Strawberry Shields was named Team ICE starter a few hours before game time as she won a very hard battle against Vanessa Moe, Farah Holt, Jelena Marriucci, Vika Bronova, Theresa Bush, and Paige Reifler. Strawberry says we got a lot of quarterbacks on our team because a lot of these girls quarterback their WFL teams but in order to play on Team ICE you have to be able to play several positions on both sides of the football. The only area where I struggle was the offensive and defensive lines in the trenches because I'm not that strong to block or gain through the offensive line but I can play every other position on the field if I didn't win this job. These girls can all play and over 30 girls tried out for the position at the start of training camp but it came down to the seven of us and Farah Holt will be my primary backup, Vanessa Moe will follow her, and Jelena Mariucci after but I believe Jelena will be my main backup if I get injured because Farah and Vanessa are too good to stay on the bench and we've already got some girls down on defense and offense so we'll need them on the field and they're super talented I got a lot of respect for those girls. Jelena Mariucci can play she'll do very in the WFL quarterbacking for the Milwaukee Millers I know Bridget Satterlee and Natalie Ceretti can't wait to see her sling the ball in Chicago this Sunday. My main goal is to lead these girls to victory and not be the reason why we lose.
Strawberry Shields says she wants to eventually play for the Toronto Icegals instead of traveling to Seattle every week so she can make a decision on that after the season is over if Toronto doesn't trade for her to come to the team before the season ends.
New Head Coach Paige Van Buren said the competition was very stiff but it was always truly Strawberry Shields job to lose and she proved she was tough enough to keep it as Paige loves the chemistry between her and a few receivers on the team like her own sister Kay Shields who will be the main receiving option. Strawberry takes a lot out of Santana while Kay takes a lot out of Allison with their playing styles as Allison Shields was a terrific wide receiver for years for Team ICE. Paige is very confident that Strawberry will lead Team ICE to several victories this season in both the high school league and on Battle of the Network Stars this season.
Team ICE's depth this season gives them so much flexibility and the chance to not have to worry about getting too many injuries as they have several backups in place as the battles for starting positions was really tough and all of the girls have been trained to play multiple positions on both sides of the ball so you will see some girls who are offensive specialists playing defense and vice versa.
Team ICE has a few positions that could change around as the one that we know for sure that Michi Kat Grimes won't be starting on that defensive line with Chris De'Sean Lee, Jezebel James, and Lorenea Rape as she's about to face a severe suspension for her two criminal activities this afternoon. Vika Bronova who was originally supposed to start on the offensive line next to Natalie Ceretti and Yara Khmidan will now take the place of MKG and Demi Alfonso will take her place on the offensive line. Other changes will be made too as Juliane Landers is playing with a weak ankle out there and could out of the game but is expected to start. Antonella Marzilli and Natasha Herbst will enter the lineup on defense if need be in that secondary.
Linebackers Coach Maxie Justice says that linebacking core on defense is coming along really well right now as Megan May Williams and Neta Alchemist have been nice surprises both of them one severe competitive battles to win their jobs. Most of the girls tried out to play linebacker so the decisions were tough but Maxie Justice is making a really good difference for that group right now as Bridget Satterlee will lead them tonight along with Melissa Alonso.
Also Defensive Backs Coach Kyla Ray who chose not to play for Team ICE this season in favor of becoming a coach so that she can limit her playing career to Sundays with the WFL has done a great job with her group as well but Kyla Ray believes her secondary will change quite a bit here as the season goes along because she says it's not a finished product just yet but she knows Kya Summers and Jesalyn Moe will be there. Kya said that Jesalyn Moe could end up being the best cornerback in the WFL someday as she is a beast coming off the ball and shutting down receivers. Jesalyn was so good she frustrated all of the receivers in practice the past couple of weeks and she had some real great battles with Kay Shields. Kyla also believes that Jesalyn is going to prove a lot of people wrong this season and will be a huge reason why this defense is going to be so good. Kyla Ray also says watch out for Angie Bonnani to enter this secondary someday as she says the studio is going to develop Angie real slowly before putting her out there but Kyla confirms that Nancy Nery, Kelly Love, Antonella Marzilli, and Natasha Herbst are all ready to go if there's any injuries or any of the starters struggle out there.
STRAWBERRY SHIELDS RUMORED TO BE DJ BECKY
Chairman Marie Avgeropoulos says that 2010 number one overall pick Lindsay Roberts is in a real race to save her job at The ICE Phederation this season as she's got competition coming from the new rookies and past draft picks going back to her draft class. Jenny Sense was just cast to take on the role as "Jaime" as her comedy pilot "Jenny" failed to get picked up in favor of Jenny Sense taking on the role of Jaime starting live this Friday night. Jenny Sense was in a battle to become DJ Becky. Lindsay Roberts starred in "DJ Becky" back in 2013 as the role was originally offered to Jacqueline MacInnes Wood back in 2012 who originally starred in Toronto's Friends back in ICE's earlier seasons in NITRO but Jacqui Mac went on to become an executive before ultimately leaving ICE for ROD. Comedy Coordinator Mia Serafino was looking reconstruct DJ Becky this season by recasting the role and giving the show a strong supporting cast with the rookies that ICE just drafted. The show is not going to premiere until October so the network is making sure they get the pilot right but right now Lindsay Roberts is no lock to play DJ Becky just yet and many believe if she loses the role then ICE will get rid of her before next season just like they did with Barbara Palvin who went to ROD. Strawberry Shields right now is in contention to play DJ Becky as Kay Shields could join her in that pilot as well. Both sisters will guest star on "Youth of Life" for the first four episodes of this season all September long.
In other ICE news, we got President Molly Ephraim confirming that she will bring both Lisa Grantham who already stars on "Young Girls" and Jezebel James onto "Molly in South Philly" for a few episodes this fall to make fun of SBC and for Jezebel James to threaten them live on the air. SBC already has a diss show of their own with Kaitlyn Dever and Molly McCook airing directly against Molly in the same timeslot so it's going to be a battle starting this Friday night.
Also Jesse Azalone and Marissa Robertson will get some guest star appearances on a few shows until their decision is made to stay on the roster as a NITRO professional or not on Monday, October 22, 2018 but many believe they'll stay on the ICE roster since ICE knows there will be some draft busts they'll have to replace from this draft.
